Sounded like he was very grateful and professional. They are not necessarily indicators that he is a flight risk. Could be the complete opposite.

Agreed, solid unit who presented well.

Haven't been too active here recently but I must say how excited I am for Mattaes. 192 and 82 kegs. Was unit and he's only 17! Could be that game changer mid in a few years. Loved that video of Ross just embracing Mattaes.

I'm a bit of a draft nut, so here's my two cents.

Now for our next few picks, I'd love a KPP with our first pick tonight, and then whatever next best mid for our next. Lewis Hayes will be gone you'd think, so I'd love it if Phillips fell to us. He'd challenge Cordy for that round 1 spot, or Brayden George would be grouse too. I'm big on Brayden.

For the mids, if Noah Long is available, I'd pray we take him. There's something about him imo.

1. Dons fans are not happy they passed on Mattaes [emoji7]

2. Oppo fans do not like Mattaes [emoji7]

3.
A few cheapies about old FIGJAM Mattaes rating himself as best and going at pick 10 or wanting to play big games and ending up at minnow club Saints - I mean we've got Port fans hanging shit on us for low attendance which is ironic AF lol.

I can't wait to wipe the trolly grins off those faces when King, Windy, PoPo and the gang make us box office again and tens of thousands of doubters become believers and fill stadiums with rabid Saints fans.

The Rapture.

A lot had to go our way to get Phillipou.
Both Adelaide & Port traded out of the top 10. Cam McKenzie had to get interest we couldn’t match. Essendon had to knock back last minute bids for pick 4 and then had to opt for Tsatas.
Hawthorn had to opt for a mid who offers more of the same to Ward.
Hopefully a defining moment in the history of our club. The kid has alpha tendencies. Incredibly excited about watching his journey in the RWB

What are our chances of getting an extra pick tonight?

With GWS getting the unexpected bid last night, they might be unlikely to trade 22 now.

Maybe Essendon at 25 if the Davey bid is going to come early or Sydney at 27 who are known to not rate this draft?
It's definitely looking more unlikely now

Need to hope that Davey gets bidded on straight away

Sydney seem to have enough picks for next year now so it would be unlikely they trade out

Sorry didn't see the draft, how did we do that stavro#4 ?
Every draft expert I.e Twomey has said we were working on a deal to take Hewett with one of the GWS picks.

The eagles said they weren’t looking at taking 2 WA boys with their first 2 picks. With Ginbey being the lock at 9 to them.

Twomeys phantom draft has been 13/13 and had Hewett going early in the second round to the eagles third pick.

So they went early to avoid losing him.

Even for the start of the new season, there seems to be an irresistible force gathering momentum, the likes of which we haven't seen for a long time. Geez it's only been about six weeks or so but already that talk of our irrelevance is yesterday's news. A couple of nice moves in the later rounds tomorrow and it's amazing how quickly the narrative changes. The faux outrage about ratts will now die thanks to there being something else to write about (draft) and from here on in we put the work in and I think we'll surprise a few next year. Bring it on!
Really not that much outrage by Saints fans and you are correct only because it was off season and they needed something to write about. Even then much was pretty even handed on the overall outcome. While feeling sympathy for Ratts, it is hard and humiliating to be sacked in public being told basically that you aren't good enough for a job, this is a tough business, the guy we appointed was sacked in his last job.

But agree with you, the change has been remarkable. I know we are tragic Sainters who live in a perpetual hope bubble, but my hope had evaporated, it is back with a vengence.
Now we seem to be nailing the draft last year and this year, time will tell, but the momentum is swinging.

All may go **** up as is the case for most teams. Even the most successful with 16 flags means they have failed 109 times since 1897.

As stav said we forced WCE hand on Hewitt, lets hope he is their Ben Long and whomever next we pick is a Shai Bolton.

What Hawthorn gave up to get Weddle…wow!

Someone said it was likely to be the equivalent of about pick 4, and that Sydney effectively get about pick 21 next year for free.

Reminds me of what they gave us to get the picks needed to get JOM.

They sure do know how to overpay!
Short sighted surely.
Where do they go for picks next year?

Love the way Phillipou believes he is the best, I’m a great believer that when you believe you are the best, you become the best.

Believe it or Not!
