Chance at 4 tonight.

We want a pick in the first 9.

Our second is at pick 10
As has been mentioned above, the forces at play all lining up to present us with the Pou, the sheer amount of unrelated tangents involving at least three other teams (and possibly up to about six) all coming together positively for us is really quite astounding. It seems very un-Saints like luck. I say this as the Pou is the one I wanted, just didn't think we'd be a chance.

Now if we can add another three or four good players tonight with some astute manoeuvring and selection it would cap off what has been close to the most impressive six weeks in the club's history!

Too much? 😲🤔😄🧐

I messaged a few others a week ago.

The club it seems ranked Tsatas and Phillipou the same way as the bombers. Hence the trying to trade up.

But make no mistake, they will be thrilled with Phillipou. Some absolute insane comparisons by some of our recruiters when talking about Phillipous ceiling.

From what I was told. Cmac was third in our rankings of those available in the “live” draft.

But he is so young. We need to give this kid time.

Ross is the right coach for this kid. I’ve never been more certain.

We have 5 empty plus the ability to add a Cat B rookie.
Future second and our pick 44

Into an early second rounder.

+ picks 31+35

A rookie and stocker.

Very nice list build in the 12 months between drafts

ST KILDA

Draft picks: 31, 35, 44, 66

List needs: Match-winning midfielders/forwards, elite ball-users, key position depth

Who do took in first round: Mattaes Phillipou (pick 10)

Who’s in the mix after that: Coby Burgiel, James Van Es, Jaxon Binns, Harvey Gallagher, Noah Long, Angus McLennan (NGA), Clay Tucker

It is believed the Saints are among several clubs looking to get another pick in the second round of the draft. The Saints are fans of speedster Coby Burgiel if he gets to 28, but he may not get past a host of suitors before them. The draft range of key defender James Van Es begins at their third choice at 32, while they have shown interest in 19-year-old distributor Harvey Gallagher, wingman Jaxon Binns and small forward Noah Long, who could all come into the equation in the second-half of the draft. While they were unable to snare Mackenzie through their Next Generation Academy, they are likely to secure forgotten defender Angus McLennan as a Category B rookie. McLennan has endured a wretched run with injury but the 19-year-old has shown promise this year for St Kilda’s VFL affiliate the Sandringham Zebras and in the NAB League.

Once tonight is done and you look over the list.

Hunters spot on the list looks very shaky if he can’t put it together next season.

There won’t be enough midfield spots for him if Windhager Owens Phillipou all make it and Coffield settles in at half back again.

Plus McLennan as a Cat B. We might also keep that extra rookie spot open for the mid-season draft or another train on player but overall, it would give us a good haul.

Trade in for Burgiel with a future 2nd and either 31/35 or 44, Keeler with the next pick and either Van Es or Phillips with the last (depending on who's available and which pick we threw in for Burgiel).

Hearing Eagles are also keen on Burgiel and have Pick 29, two ahead of our first pick tonight.

Think the above would be a dream, and surely almost guarantees Keeler given where he is projected. Bit of a reach, but if we could somehow get the penny to drop.....
