If we traded Crozier our for a future 3rd/4th I’d be happy adding Garner to the list and bank the salary difference.
17/12/04 So yes a late birthday with a good progression. Personally would take a punt on him at 11 if that's our first.
Might be a bit of a reach but has good athletic profile, kicking isn't a liability and is a perfect fit for our list profile to set it up long term. Could play Rnd 1 as the 3rd tall defender. Now is the time for us too be brave risk it to get the biscuit!!

Hayes? Since when?
Had thought it may have been Ginbey as he could play as a big bodied mid as well as defender

Just in the process of doing up a list in the last week. Very difficult process particularly with the draft so very even across the board. It wouldn't necessarily surprise me if we took someone like Hayes at our 1st even though I rate him more around the 30 mark. There's not a huge amount separating each player earlier in the draft. A fair bit of it is going to come down to the player's character also which none of us really have much of an idea on.
I would take Weddle before Hayes.
After the top 5, I would look at Busslinger, Ginbey, Weddle, George and then Hayes.
I don’t know Hayes personality type or off field focus levels.

I would too. Weddle is better performed and a more well rounded player. He was often playing on the best players both tall and small, while Hayes was often playing on the the 3rd option at the champs and is a bit more of a riskier option as I'm not entirely convinced he will be a genuine key defender.
Phillipou is very high on my list too, I would find it pretty tough to pass on him. His game against the Allies, I rank as one of the best games I've seen of anyone this year. He's just a bit more inconsistent compared to those at the top end. I listened to an interview a week or so back. Speaks well and is very confident in his ability. Loves his footy by the sound of it too, watches a lot.
Weddle's listed height is 192 which seems a bit short to play on 200cm forwards. Do you think he can be a number 1 defender?

No. He’s an intercepting 3rd tall type. We do need one of those as well.
Is Cadman the 5th player in the top 5? I thought it was more a clear top 4?

I think McKenzie has pushed himself into a group of 6. He’s very classy.

He's more of a 3rd tall, that can play bigger and seems to have the athleticism to play small. He's pretty good, both defensively and offensively.
Tsatas, Ashcroft, Sheezel, Wardlaw, Mackenzie
Cadman on my board would be at 6, because there is no way is he not being picked after Busslinger. Cadman can play KPD well, so should go by 6. Busslinger by 7…. too good to drop beyond that. Philipou, Humphrey & Clark probably round out the top 10.

Agreed. Could be a big piece for our future.
Either of Hayes or Weddle as a strong piece for our backline, and either of George or Ginbey for our future midfield with the ability to play elsewhere, and I'm happy.
Could very easily see him being the first picked on night 2.
Ideally, I would like any 3 of:
Busslinger, Ginbey, Hayes, Weddle & George.
But then I am a bit greedy. [emoji6]

Buss would be my first picked, I'm just not expecting him to get past Carlton.
