Why do you see the interest from Carlton. I would have thought they’d back in Weitering and Young and give Marchbank and Kemp an extra year to see if they can get over injuries.

I don’t think he makes it to pick 6, let alone Carlton at 10. It’s not that I think he is a top 6 player, I have reservations BUT it’s hard to find a player like him, so he gets bumped up 4+ picks due to that.
I would rather get Ginbey & Weddle than Busslinger. I am pretty sure you would need to trade more valuable picks to get Busslinger; than the picks needed to secure Ginbey and Weddle.
I don’t think anyone would trade pick 5 for picks 12 & 22 (where I think those two will be drafted).

I don’t think he is a midfielder. It’s where people will draft and play him.
Personally if he was there at pick 20+, I would draft him and develop him as a KPD. I think he would be able to play that role…. but I suspect someone will try and turn him into an inside mid… perhaps after he fails at that, we could offer him a lifeline and develop him as a KPD.
Even as a KPD, I have doubts…. I wouldn’t draft him until after Hayes (who I also have doubts about) is gone.

I really like him, but could he play a couple years forward? I'm concerned that if we took a pure midfielder they'd do a Hately/Caldwell/Bruhn and leave after s couple of years to a team that offers them a starting mid spot.

Dunks has at least been around a while. GWS has a habit of drafting mids, not having a spot in the midfield for them, and losing them as soon as they can walk out. I'd hate for us to use a high pick on a player as good as Philippou and then lose him.

Every team loses players, GWS' issue seems to be they really really wanted to keep Taranto. And now they haven't
We're probably 'lucky' enough to have fringe players we don't really worry about losing right now. Good luck to Lippi by the way
Not fast enough IMO.
But he is good 1v1. All teams need a strong 1v1 KPD not just quick KPD.
Could make a good FB.

I think we would be ok with Philippou. He's very versatile, spent time on the wing and forward in the champs. He said in a recent interview that he would be more then happy to move away from Adelaide. In fact he said he would welcome the opportunity.
One of his favourite player's is the Bont also.

I'd have no reservations about drafting a midfielder. We're likely to have a Dunkley sized hole in our midfield rotations. Libba is starting to get on and the only real sure thing A grade talent we have there younger than Bont is Smith.
If that player happens to be versatile like Philipou and can play HFF, wing etc then all the better. I actually think the dream draft for us to pickup someone like him early and then Hayes with our next pick

Phillipou will certainly fill that goal kicking big mid position nicely. Late birthday as well, plenty of growth left in him.

Assuming Dunks goes I reckon we could be a realistic chance. If we are happy to give up our first plus whatever we get for Dunks for West Coast's pick 2/3 it'd guarantee us either Sheezel or Tsatas. If WC want the WA kids they might agree if we have the best offer.

Pretty good top 30ish.
Watched abit of vision of Lachlan Cowan - Very impressed. Has a massive boot, really good size and has great burst speed. Think he’ll become a full time midfielder eventually but does have that versatility to play half back.
My only concern is being from TAS, as soon as they get a license you think they’ll go hard for any of the TAS talent.
