So JJ is a yet to re-sign free agent and GCS have reportedly tabled an offer to him. We are apparently travelling north to meet face to face with GCS? Coincidence?

Could GCS front end an offer to JJ to boost our compensation as part of a broader deal?
JJ got a two year deal on the table from the Dogs
So unless another club sweeps in, reckon he's staying

Very optimistically- McKenzie, Gibney, Hayes, George.
Potentially gives us an elite winger with good pace and a beautiful kick, aggressive small/medium defender, developing tall defender and high quality small forward.
McKenzie at 11 seems unlikely. Maybe Gibney, Hotton, Hayes and George?
Hotton sounds like a bit more of a natural winger than McKenzie and apparently had an excellent NAB GF.

Yeah I know there's little chance McKenzie gets to us, it was more a dream scenario.
I know Ginbey had a lot of fans here and I like him too as a list fit but I feel like he's perhaps half a tier below some of the other players like Clarke, Philippou, Busslinger and Humphrey so hopefully one of them falls through

What are thoughts on Jhye Clark? Very well rounded player on both sides of the body and good head on his shoulders be very happy if we could get him in

Alright with Dunks nominating Brissy, let’s say we end up with 15 & 19 to go with 11 & 27, what mix of players are you taking & why?

Trying to be realistic rather than dream scenario…

Hewett, Weddle, Konstanty, Barnett

Hewett. Dynamic big bodied midfielder.

Weddle. 3rd KPD. Solidly built interceptor.

Konstanty. Genuine crumbing & pressure forward.

Barnett. Talented ruckman, but I think he might be athletic enough and a good enough user to be a KPD.

Need a KPD more than a 3rd tall or ruck for mine

If we get four picks in that early bracket
As long as 3 become regulars in our side; I’ll be fairly happy
very happy if just two become really good for us and the other two are solid
Our quality and depth in that backline of ours is just ooof

There are few true KPD that are any good in this draft. Hayes may become one but he is more a third tall interceptor like Weddle. Weddle is good 1v1 and could become an undersized KPD.
You could draft the 3rd rated KPD Van Es in the third or fourth round…. He is a long shot to make it.

Barnett an undersized athletic ruck, is probably the most likely to become a KPD…. He will be an early second round pick, as could be a ruck-forward IF developed as such.

Agree, but I'm not convinced about Hayes. Maybe once I see more of his defensive work. I've got Barnett there as a potential defender. Speculative but if he can see himself in that role he's got great size and attributes, moves like a much smaller player.

We definitely need to be recruiting some genuine talls to develop though regardless of where we take them though was embarrassing looking at the Footscray Key Positions at times this year

Weddle seems to have good hybrid potential. Like a bigger Maynard. Would add some balance to our backline. The fact we tried Hannan down there tells me the coaches realise we're crying out for a player like that.

Sounds crazy to say but with Dunkley gone we really need to start thinking about restocking our midfield.

It’s going to be quite alarmingly old next year - Libba 31, Treloar 30 and Macrae 29. Lipinski and Dunkley leave a pretty big hole in that mid 20s group.

If Busslinger isn’t there at our 1st pick, just give me the best midfielder.

McKenzie and Phillippou would both be good. I'm keen on a mid who can play elsewhere, as I fear that a pure mid would leave aftr a couple years in th forward line and/or VFL. But a decent size mid with some speed and/or tidy kick would complement the midfield pretty well.
