Hayes’ disposal means I think he’s a reasonably safe bet to be at least a very serviceable 2nd tall even if he doesn’t develop the strength to be the lead KPD.
He is a tall gangly kid right now will fill out Sam his brother is a pretty solid unit. Can absolutely see him developing into a solid KPD maybe not a star but definitely an upgrade on what we have currently.
If we got Hayes & Weddle would certainly stiffen up our back half

Where us Jhye Clarke projected to go ? Think his hard at it attitude would be a good fit to add to our midfield mix, could start on a wing and go inside later on

6-15 range.
Likely to be picked between our first two picks. Is a good player but prefer others at our first pick.

Which mid that’s likely to be available at our pick would be your preference?

MacKenzie, Sheezel, Philipou, Humphrey; would all be ahead of Clark on my board. (Sheezel I think will drop to around our pick).

I am partial to Ginbey, but he is likely available at pick 15… which is where Weddle is likely to be taken.

IF I got the choice of taking picks 13, 14 & 15 to the draft, I would be a happy camper. Hayes, Weddle and Ginbey would sure up our defence quickly.

Liked the look of Mackenzie but thought he was likely to be off the board before our pick. Would like too go to the draft with our 1st rndrs some good options available to set us up long term

I really like the options in the top 25 this year. Beyond that I am not that keen.

IF we can get 3 picks prior to 20, I think we will be in a good place in 2024, a few of the players would even improve us in 2023.

Lots of the mids could play for us round 1. Even Weddle, Ginbey or Hayes could play the third tall role in round 1 too. We have a poor list, when you can see a spot in our best 22 for 3 new draftees.

One attribute we need to target is a bit of campaigner. Someone who doesn’t like being beaten and will push those around them to be better.

Got the feeling that Jhye Clark had that edge to his game , that's why I was curious to his likely draft range. This is a possibly defining draft for us remaining successful in the future.
Dom Milessi your time to shine

Elite runner very nice kick too would be a good pick up. Also McDonald showed some good dash needs to tidy up his kicking a bit with a late pick worth a chance
Yep, his kicking and decision making were class yesterday. Surprised he's not talked about more.

What makes you think Sheezel will drop that far?

Everything I've seen has him in the top 4 with a possibility of being North Melbourne's choice at 1.

Also if you had to pick one of Ginbey or Weddle who are taking?

I think Weddle seems to have grown an extra couple of cm, seemed to match up fine on the 196cm Cadman. With that in mind, I'd probably take him.

Sheezel in all the games I have watched in the second half of the year, hasn’t really done much. He is a medium forward only, while the other medium forwards are midfielders too.

Humphrey looked far more dangerous yesterday.

I would take Weddle first, which is a change from earlier in the year, where I had Weddle as a mid second round prospect.

The last couple of years our draft thread has seen us like wistful kids with empty pockets in a lolly shop. We knew we were getting Christmas presents of JUH, and then Darcy the next year, but not much else. All those other morsels like cobbers, musk sticks, jelly snakes, gob stoppers, choo choo bars and clinkers would have to wait until we had some pocket money.

Well this year we've finally got some loose change in our pockets!

"I'll have one of those please ... and one of those ... and ... oooh! can I have a KPD as well, please mister? I've got a whole sixpence."

I actually quite like some of the later options this year. Darcy Jones, James van Es, Jaxon Binns, Anthony Munkara will all probably fall outside the top 25 and would be good needs based picks with a lot of upside.

Exactly how I feel too.

After watching the game yesterday. Weddle is likely the third KPP player off the board. He won’t be far behind Busslinger or Cadman.

Hayes was decent too BUT Humphrey was one of the best on ground and Hayes was playing on him. I think Hayes drops to end of First round calculations.

I like Jhye Clark but likely gone before our pick. IF he is there, he would be hard to pass on. Needs will say MacKenzie or Busslinger before him but he isn’t a bad option.

I also noticed more of Binns than I had previously. He was good and could play that outside role for us. One of the better ones outside of the top 25.

Van Es got turned around and took too long disposing of the ball.

Van Es had some nice use of the footy good size still needs to fill out. If we didn't get Hayes or Weddle I would take a flyer on him. Binns showed a bit in the Champa final yesterday.

Hayes was playing on someone who isn't a great matchup. I think he'll be better on talls who aren't quite as explosive as Humphrey.
