I don't like the fascination with 192-193 cm talls.

If they are athletic or strong I think it is less of an issue.

We've drafted 192cm talls that aren't strong or athletic and it's a disaster.

From the Champs game I feel that Weddle has a fair bit of Steven May about him. Not overly tall but powerful to be able to hold his ground or be able to move his opponent off the line. He is one we should be going after IMO

What's Hollands pace like? I know he has great endurance but can he break away from packs?

Also goodcop badcop I've noticed you have Busslinger and and Clark lower than most people seem to rate them. What are your reservations?

Hollands pace is decent, he does have a nice side step to get away from opponents. Doesn't have the burst and power of others in the draft though.

Clark has very little upside and I don't see as many high end traits as I do from the ones above him. I still think you are still getting a good and very smart footballer. I just don't see a very good or elite future player.

Busslinger's athleticism is a slight concern for me. Speed in particular, but even agility and his leap I wouldn't list as a strength.

I'm really keen on McKenzie, to the point I'd honestly pick him ahead of Sheezel. Surprised how low you've got Hewett, he's another I hope we can grab, assuming we've got 3 picks in the first 30 this year.

I wasn't thrilled with some of his Hewett's performances this year. He's a bit up and down as a player and I expected a bit better from someone who is a fairly well developed footballer already. When he's at his best, he's very good though and he might make me look stupid.

I think Weddle goes higher than where we are projecting him to go. Gone before pick 15 (Lions pick), we might need to use our own pick on him IF he is still there.

+1 for taking Weddle over Bus', if we get two first round picks thanks to Dunks we should take both.

If we did manage to get 7 to go with 11 & got Buss & Weddle that’d be bloody huge. Would genuinely just about complete our spine for years. Weddle looks perfect, I’d also be worried he goes before mid first round considering the need for defenders, but 11 would lock him in you’d think

I'd think 7 and 11 could nab us both Bus and Weddle, although I do fear Bus going a bit sooner due to lack of defenders, the drop off after those two is pretty big.

Surely we wouldn't need to pick Weddle at 7, and no way I'd be spending it on Busslinger.

In the (outside) chance we do get pick 7, who would everyone be hoping for? For me it'd still be Sheezel.

Tsatas. Mackenzie. Sheezel. Humphrey.

Note:
I would still take Busslinger at 7, unless those 4 are gone. Weddle at 11. That might be early for both KPD but I think we need to fix our defence.

Depending on where our next pick is, I would be looking at Ginbey, Binns, Konstanty, George, Gruzewski (if we don’t get both KPD earlier) or Cowan.

Having multiple players developing in defence at Footscray, will teach them to play together. Then in 2 years, you can have some or all of them playing as regulars together.

My wish list at each of 7, 11 and 15 (obviously not assuming we get all three picks but they're the possibilities):

7 (assuming Ashcroft, Wardlaw are gone): Sheezel, Tsatas, MacKenzie, Phillipou

11 (assuming all them plus Cadman gone): Weddle, Humphrey, Hotton, Ginbey

15 (assuming all the above plus Busslinger gone): Cowan, C.Clarke, Konstanty, Hewett, Keeler

I actually like Cowan at 11 but right now it feels like we wouldn't have to take him there.

I would be happy to spend our 1st of necessary to secure him , definite long term defender

Clark has that competitive streak that can't be instilled you either have it or you don't! I think he could be valuable addition to our mix, has a bit of the Selwood temperament which never goes astray

Agreed on the competitive streak and that will hold him in good stead at AFL level. I just don't think he has the skill or athletic profile to be a really damaging AFL player. You mentioned Selwood, I think he was quite underrated by foot and consistently hit targets even when under heavy pressure. Clark on the other hand can be a bit inconsistent by foot in my opinion.

I won't be upset if we get him because I think he will make a good AFL player. I think there's others that suit us better and have more potential though.
