I reckon bring next years second into this year for someone else's second during the pick swap period. I feel there will be someone solid/best available at pick 11. Will still give us 4 picks inside the top 35, and allow us to cover all weak spots at least once. We will still have two first rounders next year.I am hoping we get a great offer for pick 11. There may be two really good players there but to get 2 bites at the cherry a few picks later would be great.
Pick 18&19 are about ideal for us. Keeping 21 to take just after that would be about perfect.
Pick 18 = Weddle?
Pick 19 = Hayes
Pick 21 = Konstanty / Clark (whoever doesn’t go at pick 20)
Then pick 39 will move up to pick 34 and we can draft a wingman at that point.
That would set us up nicely.
If we drop 11 back for say 18 and 19, we will likely have to give 39 back in return. Thus our total draft hand stays the same really (3 x in top 35). No one will swap two late firsts for just one pick only five to six spots higher without getting something back. It will be two picks for two picks, unless our first was in the single digits.
Sydney would be a better bet to deal with, since apparently they "don't rate this years draft". They might accept 11 and future picks for their two in the late teens. Then it could give us that fourth pick inside the top 35.
