I'm not sure he lasts that long but would be happy if we picked him up at that pick.I don't follow the draft prospects very closely but I like the look of Lachie Cowan at 21, what are other people's thoughts on him?
Would be seriously tempted to nab Ethan Phillips with 19.

I think this could is a good shout. Could see WCE giving #12 and #26 for #11 if they really want Busslinger and we call to say we’re about to take him. They might offer the same to Carlton 1 pick ahead of us. I think you’d be confident that one or Hayes or Weddle is still around at #26.Surely West Coast take him at 8 and hope for Busslinger at 12 (or perhaps the other way around).
If Buss is there at 11 I wonder if we could swap for WC's 12 plus another upgrade.
They've been pretty open Jai Clarke their man i think (if he's there).Could all be moot as I could see Geelong going for Busslinger. He’d be a great pairing with De Koning taking the bigger bodies and is perfectly suited to their narrow ground.

how did he test athletically at the combine?how did he test athletically at the combine?
If Swans wanted Keeler I would have thought they would try to trade one of McLean or Amartey. I don’t think it makes sense to carry 3 x prospective KPF/2nd rucks in the list, especially with Reid still there.Brayden George goes to North in the first round
Keeler goes to Sydney
Geelong take Jhye Clarke
Sheezel goes to Essendon
George and Sheezel would be massive surprises - I'd expect Wardlaw & Sheezel to North.Brayden George goes to North in the first round

Given our lack of succession plan from Libba/Macrae/Treloar/Bont, a mid (especially one who can start forward) wouldn't be the worst result for us.I’ve sort of been resigned to the fact we’ll get a midfielder at 11 but more and more people seem to think Busslinger will make it to us - last time we took the best key defender in the draft from WA it turned out alright…
Anyone care to throw out some early predictions? I've got two so far:
Olli Hotton goes top 10
Weddle lasts to pick 21 and we don't pick him, this place melts down
I’m okay with a mid if they’re best available for sure, so long as they have a bit of something different to their game like burst speed or good skills etc.Given our lack of succession plan from Libba/Macrae/Treloar/Bont, a mid (especially one who can start forward) wouldn't be the worst result for us.
I'm not as hot on Busslinger as others. If we want a slowish intercept marker who isn't taking a no 1 or 2 KPF, that's what Darcy can do (and much better) for the next couple of years. I'd prefer Weddle because he can roll onto the mid sizers and smalls as well.

Completely agree on both points. Busslinger does not excite me at 11 at all. And starting our next gen of midfielders now, if a quality one is available, is far from a bad idea.Given our lack of succession plan from Libba/Macrae/Treloar/Bont, a mid (especially one who can start forward) wouldn't be the worst result for us.

Last year a very similar player in Charlie Dean slid to the rookie draft. 39 would do it.
I'd love any two of Hotton, Clarke, Konstanty or JonesHustwaite slides outside of the first round into late second round.
Jhye Clark isn't picked by Geelong, seems too obvious. They might look at Jefferson as they have ageing tall forwards.
We go small with our first two picks and pick up a key defender later.
I get what you're saying but look at Bev's history with draftee mids - one thing you can't dispute is that he often gets these guys to contribute in a big way nice and early. Dunks, McLean, Baz, and even some of the lesser lights playing above themselves for their first years.I know we need to look at the midfield too but it’s not super important yet
So did his parents.…
Edit - gee I murdered that name - Jhye Clark
