The players I'd like to target with our picks are cowan, Jones and Philips.
I also want to place a bid on fletcher.
As always interested in the two tall mids philipou and hustwaite
I hear what you're saying but between Keath, Gardner, Jones, O'Brien, Khamis, Darcy (short-term at least), Raak... I don't think it makes sense in terms of list management to take two. One this year, one next when at least a couple of these guys come off the list will be perfect. If we take too many they won't be playing KPD at VFL level.![]()

Jedd Busslinger with p11 if he drops (gives me Astro Vibes) or p21 for Lewis Hayes.Hayes quicker than I thought.
Rather he not buy into this draft. No need to use future picks. If they value someone that'll be there later rather he slide back and secure a future pick in the process. It's a pretty straightforward draft in my view. Just have to trade 11 and our future 2nd to Sydney for 14, 17 and their future 3rd. Then trade 14 and the future 3rd to GWS for 18 and 19.
Take Hotton, Weddle, George and Clarke with the 4 early picks and Van Es at 40 odd.
Anything less and I'll be disappointed in Powers famed negotiation powers.
Maybe he exhausted himself setting a pace that undid him near the end of the 2km trial. Would hope the dogs can pick him.Hayes quicker than I thought.
I wouldn't worry, you take that chance with anyone outside of Vic. Another Tasmanian I was reading up on at a later pick would be Tom Mccullum, speedy and tall defender.I'd be worried that Cowan would be back to Tassie the moment they get a license.
Not to mention Tasmanian father-sons. What a tangled web that could be.I'd be worried that Cowan would be back to Tassie the moment they get a license.

Weddle , Binns & Van Es would be a pretty decent haul cover off some needs and go along way to shoring up the defence. If Clarke was still there at 21 would take him but believe there is a bit interest in Clarke so he maybe gone.More and more leaning towards Van Es with our 3rd if he’s around, especially if we miss out on the others. That’s a seriously good athletic package considering he’s 196 & pushing 100kgs already - pretty bloody nice for a lockdown full back and a genuine full backs not something we have in a Darcy/Buku or Weddle/Hayes/Buss
A Van Es/Weddle combo would slot in perfectly alongside Darcy & Buku in the post Keath/Jones era. Set the defence up long term, pick best winger or small fwd at 21 then hit the midfield hard next trade/draft period with our top picks
Van Es has a fairly penetrating kick too which I am a fan of, decision making could use some work but think that should improve over time. He has a fair bit to work with can see him becoming a solid defender.Weddle and Van Es wouldn't be a bad combo. Surely one of them becomes a seriously good AFL defender?
Phillipou is bottom age too.
Massive upside I reckon.
Wasnt Garcia rated around 20 if he hadn't done his ACL?
Troy Menzel too.No, maybe champion data had him pretty high or something though.
Unless there's something very wrong medically or otherwise, players with ACL's generally don't slip that much. Especially ones that are already highly rated. Aiden Bonar went at pick 11 after doing 2 ACL's and he didn't do a whole heap. Some high picks off the top of my head that have done one in their draft year, Max King, Selwood, Lever, Kemp. All went first round. King went at pick 4 after missing nearly the whole season.
George has shown enough this season to suggest that he could be worth the risk at pick 11/12. Offers a heap of X-factor and is one of the more unique types in this year's draft.
Yeah I know it's probably not worth using future picks although I optimistically turned 11 and a future 30 something pick into 17, 18 and 19 which is probably still good value even if you consider this draft to be weak.Rather he not buy into this draft. No need to use future picks. If they value someone that'll be there later rather he slide back and secure a future pick in the process.
