I’d take Buss over Hollands any day.
Hollands could help us win next years flag. Buss will be at least another year later. It depends on where you see the list & coaching.
I see all in for 2023.

For me, we've got Jones and Keath for this premiership tilt, I really want to have a replacement or two developing for when they retire. Could only have a year or two, and I'd rather not leave drafting a young KPD until a time when we have nobody else for them to develop under.
Hollands is very vanilla. Doesn't seem to have much about him that's elite and I don't know how high his ceiling is.
Busslinger isn’t a KPD. He is a general defender, who is tall. He may become a KPD but I don’t back out system to develop him as such.
Better off targeting an actual KPD, like Hayes, Weddle, or Van Es.
Hollands is a vanilla wing, which is better than any wing we currently have…. Which is an indictment on our list.

Buss reminds me of Naughton in juniors, and haven't we all been wanting a Naughton in defense?
Surely there's another vanilla wing at 21.

Not as good as Hollands. Maybe D Jones or Ed Allan is there but I think they will go earlier.
Pick 21 looks like Clarke or Weddle territory.
Next year, sure. Pick 21 there will be choices…. That is looking like a deep deep class. Mostly due to covid restrictions stuffing up development until that class.
I get such Naughton vibes from Buss, all the way down to most people being pissed if we select him (as I was with Naughty)Buss reminds me of Naughton in juniors, and haven't we all been wanting a Naughton in defense?

Maybe we've got big plans to go after [PLAYERCARD]Ben McKay[/PLAYERCARD] as a free agent next year. Hope so, that'd make our 2024 and beyond way less desperate. For now I'm concerned we'll be going into 2024 with a 33-year-old Jones, a battler Gardner, and a brand new draftee.
I think we have the players for a flag run in 2023. What's lacking is positioning and gameplay.
There's a mock draft going on atm on youtube if anyone is bored enough to watch.
Hewett make sense as a Dunkley replacement in a few years.I certainly am.
Hewett to us is interesting.

He would be the same deal as Hewett besides Duyrea has not long left. He'd be a best available if that's the direction we went in. Don't love the Cowan pick along with him though.

Yeah but dogs have had good retention with players from other states. Last 1 to trade back home was Hamling I think. Both flight risks I reckon.
I'm fine with no KPD in the draft if they can get 1 as a rookie. Go for Talent then rookie a kpd like Brand. Cowan can be turned into a intercept defender as well.Honestly I’d just take Hayes at 11 if that’s what was left or Phillips at 39
Pommy has still selected three exciting players for us though
Heck, I’d be happy with Cowan even at our firstI'm fine with no KPD in the draft if they can get 1 as a rookie. Go for Talent then rookie a kpd like Brand. Cowan can be turned into a intercept defender as well.
I think a small/medium defender is more of a need then a key defender at this point. We have an aging duryea or nothing. Cowan or weddle are my picksI'm fine with no KPD in the draft if they can get 1 as a rookie. Go for Talent then rookie a kpd like Brand. Cowan can be turned into a intercept defender as well.
Hollands has elite endurance. Not very sexy but probably most important for a winger. For me, we've got Jones and Keath for this premiership tilt, I really want to have a replacement or two developing for when they retire.
