How’s he a consensus top 3 pick in a much stronger draft though if he’s only just a top 10 lock in this one? From all reports the top end this year sucks

I don’t know why everyone’s so worked up about future picks, I don’t want 3 picks next year - we should be trying to trade into this draft, we have a severe lack of young talent on the list which needs to be addressed sooner rather than later and this draft suits our needs to a tee

Would probably see if we could cut a deal with Swans or GWS to get another teens pick this year for the F1 to grab another talent this year.
A few around the mark Hayes , Weddle and Konstanty a few that come to mind that could fill some gaps now.

They like Ollie Hollands and Ed Allan as outside running players. But I wouldn't rule out a key defender like Jedd Busslinger or Lewis Hayes, either

I think that’s our view too and we aren’t completely off him, but looking for midfielders with pace.

My vibe is that I’m pretty sure we’ll be drafting Ollie Hollands. Part of me is just not excited about drafting a winger so high up, particularly one whose elite trait is running rather than ball use or marking or something flashy, but I’ll watch some highlights and see if I can get myself hyped. He’d certainly play round 1.

Given the type of player Hollands is, you're not going to get a good read of his ability with a highlights package. You'd need to watch full games to appreciate his game, which is probably a big ask if you work full time

Hollands' write-ups just sound super boring, but I know doing everything well is just as valuable as having one or two big x-factor traits. We've been spoiled by our last bunch of first-rounders all being excitement machines.

Sometimes the players floor is so high, that even without elite abilities in anything; the players is worth drafting. You know the minimum you are going to get and that is still valuable.

I would prefer to try and trade 11&39 for 18&19 but we might not have that option.

I suspect we end up with either Buss or Hollands. Whoever we take probably affects who we target at our second and third picks.

TBH I think a good winger and KPD are both list needs, if our recruiting staff think that Buss can become one in the AFL system.

Looks like an 'effective' user of the ball and seems to have more kicking penetration than Hunter ever has.
