Game Day 2022 election - Could we have a Nahas parliament?.

******* Green’s. People seem to forget they ****ed the chance to put a price on carbon, and they’ll probably just end up blocking any real climate change progress again. Nothing but Greenwashed socialists, and the youngens will soon be pissed at them.

Interesting story has been doing the rounds for years about what he did to some indig kids one of his last nights as a cop.

Suffice to say, it'll be nice to see him get his one day.
If that's the story about taking kids out of town and making them walk home barefoot I've heard he wasn't involved by someone who claims to know the names of the cops involved. But that's minor compared to some s**t I've heard from that time and earlier that Qld cops just did as a standard practise too.

Yeah nah.

Let me understand this. The Liberals are considering installing a conservative leader after having its conservative administration lead by a conservative smashed for being too conservative. Kinda makes sense when you think about it.

This is why I think the next leader will be Hawke or Tehan, not Dutton.

I'm torn on him as leader. Part of me thinks that Dutton as leader would make the LNP unelectable for a long time and I could live with that.
Be just like the Libs. We ducked this election by going to far right, so let’s get our most right winged dickhead to lead us.

His charisma is just too much.

Either that or have a completely new opposition
Bit of a poisoned chalice getting it this early and not a lot remain from last time… I’d be shocked if Dutton stayed too long in the role though

All organizations have churn through them where differing opinions and actions change through the journey. you cant judge the actions and policies of the greens under Milne to those under Bandt or DeNetate, and for what its worth theres nothing wrong with socialist policies. fwiw most of out electorate cant even tell the difference between socialistic and communistic policy. Medicare and subsided medicine/(medicare or NHS in UK) are socialistic policies which both the majors stated they support in the recent election.

politics is won in the middle as they say, yet looks like the libs plan to appoint a further right leader where their moderates are losing seats to teal independents. doesnt read like the actions of a party looking to increase its amount of seats or seek a majority.

The dominant paradigm of LNP being strong on economy and security and Labour being socialist is shifting, mainly the first part. The veil is been lifted on what lies beneath the surface of the LNP and our community is reposnding in kind, leading to what will be likely their worst ever election result.

They can't hide their pentecostal, neo-con whackoness any longer. Its like Trump, natural disasters and covid gave them a chance to come out into the light, News Corp gave them a platform thinking clickbait = opinion and our community was suitably abhorred.

* em all. May they swing themselves further right, right into oblivion.

The smartest idea will be to review the result, put time, effort and pain into a moderate right leaning side and recruit plenty of women… now cue Dutton taking over (Libs thinking “he’s our man” and not a fall guy until the next leader presents themselves) going to the next election without changing any policies

It would probably be the weakest field of any race that you can think of.
Obviously Frydenberg is a likely omission from this list. Labor, on the other hand, would have a number of viable alternatives: Clare, Chalmers, Plibersek etc.

I’ve read a few reports that suggest that the only choice is to go further to the right. Seems a rather odd way to react to the loss. It’s like a bloke whose marriage has just ended because of his drinking who thinks to himself 🤔 ‘hmm, if I want to meet someone else I’ll need to drink even more’.

Because the only viable alternative and who they should have gone too (ie get sober in your situation) is off the table with the result (like they have been locked overnight in a bottlo)

The greens Dental policy I liked. Liked a lot.

I remember and I still get mad about it. The flow on effects of that impasse fkd Australia for the last 15 years.

Labor was equally to blame tho. Let's hope they both have learnt from that experience and we get some decent government this time.

Yeah yeah. They set climate change policy back 10 years. A bunch of morons.
The policy under Gillard was significantly better.

Liberal party ****ed that with their bullshit after Abbott got elected. They would have even scrapped the NDIS if they got the chance. The Libs haven't been a "liberal" party since the 70s.

In fact the ALP of today is closer to the Libs of the 70s.
