Was just looking through every premo mid, and one I cannot believe is not getting more love (4% ownership), is Josh Kelly. Was thrown forward for the first 7 games last year, and averaged 85.5 over that period.

Once he was chucked back in the midfield from Round 8 onwards, he went at 110.3. Priced currently at 103.7 and has gone 115+ in the past - at the very least he goes 110 again this year.

Also only missed 1 game last year in a full season, so looks to be putting his injury woes behind him. Definitely a watch for mine now.

Agree 100% .....plus does the Captaincy elevate his performances as well ?

I think it definitely does. He seemed to thrive on that role last year when Toby was out, so I can only see him being more in and under and prolific, with Toby out for the first 6 rounds, and Coniglio having next to no idea on what it is to be a captain, lol

Was thinking about it after this article https://coachespanel.tv/46-most-relevant-josh-kelly/

However just worried about injuries is he past it or was it a flash in the pan

Shh he’s my POD at the moment. Can’t believe how little his ownership is

I don’t have any of them currently. Am rocking Mills at 1 though
View attachment 1307026

And I'm playing with fire and rocking with Isaac 'perennially injured but apparently getting more mid time this pre-season for the 4th consecutive year', Heeney - at F4 :tearsofjoy:

Mr Horse's posterior himself will be laughing at me come Round 3, I've no doubt :)

I had Mills but apparently he's still on a somewhat restricted program due to the achilles
Where have you seen this? I can't find a great deal outside of this article from start of Dec:

Meanwhile, Mills is ahead of schedule with the club very happy with the progress he is making.
"He is back in full training now and has fully recovered from his shoulder surgery. He is doing everything normally in the gym and back doing full-contact training well," Raper told the Swans' website.
"Callum is going well and is probably a little bit ahead of where we expected him to be. We’ve been really lucky to receive some external expert advice from a tendon specialist who has been consulting to Callum. He is running at the moment, he is building his volumes up to five-six km per session so we’re happy with his progress."

he is in the mix for my M3 between him, Mills and Walsh.

IMHO. Steele, Titch and Neale (at this stage) are must haves, so I have room for one more premo and then one mid pricer in my midfield.
Currently it's
Steele, Titch, Mills, Neale, Yeo, JHF, Daicos, Sheldrick

Starting to think a Yeo type might be a better option than Rowell at M5. Rowell is sort of awkward priced still at 55, I think he goes 75-80, so value, but that still leaves him a fair bit short of getting to a fallen premium

Agree although i'm not liking either of them tbh.
If Rowell goes 80-90 average, thats good for his price I guess. But those midfield spots are the only spots on our ground capable of the 120+ average week in week out. its alot of points to drop.
Surely it's better to just take a rookie instead and take the 60's and bank that $200-$250k?

Ditto Yeo. I'm not sure what he's capable of anymore. He can average ~100-105. He's done it before. But there's also 2 years of injury concerns there since the last time he's been a premium. Even if fit, I can't see them throwing a massive workload at him straight away in the year. He could be similar to last years output (80s). Which is a fail at his price tag. And would you want him there all year? I wouldnt think so, as he'll always be capable of chucking in a 60-80 if West Coast continue to be as garbage as they were in 2021.

I'm very much adamant at going cows for ELITE guns in the midfield this year. There is simply too much points up for grabs at the high end.

One high ranking & regular high ranking fantasy player has a policy ....outside of rookie year, he won't select a player whose played less than 50 games

Obviously a player's price is higher, but also under 50 games we get a big volatility in scoring from round to round

Powell will be a great Fantasy player ....but It's a no from me on the above basis ....PLUS I never select a 2nd year player ....those damn 2nd year Blues, they're real !
Seems like a pretty silly rule. Most third year breakouts begin with less than 50 games. Oliver averaged 110 after starting the year on 13 games. Based on this rule he would have missed Taranto's third year and Walsh last year. Why limit yourself to missing out on that?

Yep good shout.

There's actually a few around that bracket that will get alot more love with some firey preseason games:

Guthrie $922k. I'm thinking of taking him as a POD and will hit the eject button early if it fails.
Oliver $912k. Many are on him already. Seems very cheap for his output. Premiership hangover a concern for me though as its definitely a real thing with a shorter preseason for the premiers.
Parish $885k. Bargain when he was best in the comp for 6-8weeks last year...
Adams $846k. Injury concerns will always be an issue. But certainly capable of a 110 average.

And last but not least... Dangerfield $728k.............. I'd probably be taking him over Yeo and cheaper? Upside would be if/when he gets DPP forward status at the first additions.

Gaff back in full training for those who think he's unders

I can only say it has worked for him consistently ....there's always player exceptions, however you don't have to have every highly ranked player to be highly ranked

Had him last year thinking he was unders and it was a painful ride to say the least. Never again list.
New midfield coach and with a fit midfield I think there's almost no chance he plays inside again. Can see him sitting on a wing again racking up the +6's. JLT watch

I think I remember him talking about this concept before and how he might need to reconsider it. Fair play though and goodluck!

I'm very much interested in both him and Yeo. We know there is decent upside there for both of them

I have three mid-high pricers (Neale, Whitfield, Serong), Rowell, and a few rookies. Tossing up who to put in for my 900+k captain. Had Macrae but I'm tossing up whether Steele can repeat his 2021.
