Depending how Darcy knee is I’ll take him and witts and use my cash elsewhere

This sounds pretty good actually. Can't see myself taking too big men with a history of dodgy knees into round 1 though.....! Sports bet wouldn't even offer you an odds on the chances they breakdown at some point in the year.

I think I'll take one of Grundy/Gawn and probably Witts. But if price elsewhere permits I'll just lock in Gawndy again and be done with it. Rucks are a headache every year.

Where do we sit on Hall? Was obviously one of the best fantasy players all season averaging 108, it’s about 120 without the sub related early scores. But Is the 830k projected price for him too much? I mean you can get a much more reliable guy like Oliver in the mids for that price who’s been there and done it. That being said, Hall is likely a top 3 defender yet again

Can't see myself doing it.
Jumping in mid-way through the year at a cost deduct was a no brainer.

Paying full value for him expecting a full years solid output out of him... I'm not so sure.

More surgery for gun Crow Matt Crouch, return to training unclear (afl.com.au)

I think you can cross Crouch off the list for starting next season..... If anyone actually had him on it....

Interesting implications for Adelaide's midfield. Does this make Dawson a lock as the plug and play new guy? Or does he play defence?

In addition, surely at some stage they will want to blood some new blokes in the mids to share the load with Laird, Keays, Sloane, and Seedsman.

Schoenberg could be the guy to step up another level or one of their young guys like Cook, Hately, Chayce Jones...or even Berry could miraculously recover from his fear of touching the football.

Shhh on Dawson.....

Berry can touch it, he just refuses to kick it - or when he does - he only scores behinds....

He’s the one I’ll be watching closely and think if he gets extra midfield time like he did towards the end of this year he could push a 95+ ave as a forward.

In the last 5 weeks of this year he went at 2x100s and 2x90s. I think he will be their Crouch replacement and almost become a permanent rotation in their midfield.

Very likely to start with him.

I'm pretty bullish on him as well if he retains fwd status. The worry will be when/if M Crouch becomes fit again and slots back into the senior side. I wonder who ends up making way

I think Sloane is certainly the one to make a move out. Absolutely no need to be playing him over the younger guys now.

Nat Fyfe has undergone surgery today, after consultation with his specialist further surgery was required on his troublesome shoulder.

A small fracture in his shoulder was located from scans, the procedure was completed on Tuesday.

Fyfe will miss the start of pre-season, he initially underwent surgery on the same shoulder after failing to complete the 2021 season.

“Nat’s recovery from his initial shoulder reconstruction surgery had plateaued and, as a result of that, we sent him in for a scan which indicated that there was a small crack in the bone block that forms the basis of these types of surgery.”

Highly doubt Dawson plays much DEF .....more like Wing / Mid

Pedlar is the exciting player to step yup if he can get his body right .....and Schoenberg is ready to breakout with a 3rd PS under his belt

Sloane must step out of the midfield .....he's too slow and can't 2-way run

Where does Sloane move if not in the midfield? He's hardly a goal sneak. I wouldn't call him an elite ball user either (so HB type role like pendles is also out).

Surely he's still rotated through the middle, with some time forward to get him through games.

I have this constant argument on the ADEL board .....Sloane was drafted as an U18 HBF player ..IMO that's where he's best suited moving fwd

The counter argument is you play Sloane HFF / Mid ......I'm not sold on that idea ....but I suspect that'll be the role, interchanging with Schoenberg, Pedlar, and Berry ...who CAN play fwd

Looks like we can put a line through De Goey to start the year at a minimum

I assume you're referring to this:

Not only do we have to worry about him playing forward, we have to constantly worry about whether he's going to be in jail or not (last year it was sexual aasaul allegations, this year, god knows what) :tearsofjoy:

No thanks!!

EDIT: More unwanted touching and then bashing...which gives credence to the original charges that were 'dropped' against him by the other girl. Absolute scumbag, and will not pick him next year on pure principle - even if he does play pure mid.

Yeah just read some of the articles (see above edited comment) - that's seriously f’ed up

Regardless of any legal outcomes over in the US, I can only assume the pies will hand him their own suspension anyway to start the year (if his contract isn’t torn up as it should be).

He’s Straight out of any plans for Marshall I think.

The Witts 2R with Marshall as backup forward is a good set up to start I think.

I don’t think we’ll be picking JDG again because I don’t see how he evens plays at AFL level again.
LOL .....with the AFL's constant double standards on issues of morality and gambling .....De Goey will line up R1 and be given a commendation for jumping in to help a mate in trouble

Pies will probably be over the moon, given a reason to dump him and get his contract off the books.

He will probably not play at all next year and some desperate team will pick him up cheap the following year and spin the 'he is a changed man' he learned from the experience' BS as is tradition.

Scumbag human and i would love him to be one of the first to be made an example of buuuuuuuuuuuuuut you are right, it won't happen.
