The Group of death imo Japan and Costa Rica ain't gonna be pushovers and Germany ain't nowhere near as strong as they use to be. Spain well.. they can be anything, they can be total crap or they can go on and win the whole thing all depends which Spain turns up.

Germany aren't where they have been, even Spain has had some issues.
They should qualify but Japan (we all know) are very technical, very tough.
Costa Rica are good but perhaps punching above their weight.

I'm going with Spain and Germany here, if only for the experience and theoretical quality factor, but Japan could prove a surprise. If either Spain or Germany lose their opening game, it will make the clash between them a tense, nervy match.

Spain and Germany are obviously favourites to progress, butt Japan are a sneaky chance to progress. There is some talent in that squad. Kawashima is also still kicking on at 39.
It’s hard to beat the juggernauts, the beauty of soccer though is the unknown. A couple of mistakes can change a tournament so you never know I guess is your point. Hard to see anyone else getting through.
