Ryder back this week.
Will the Saints play Marshall Ryder and Hayes?

Do you have inside knowledge of this? His numbers from the VFL on the weekend didn't look that crash hot. If he's straight back in this week based on those numbers, then Preuss is an AA ruckman.

They would have managed him. Ryder doesn't need to prove his worth at VFL level, he just needs to get through unscathed. Hasn't had a preseason, doing it on the field.

Ryder is a better ruckman than Marshall, they wanted him to play again, and they've been getting destroyed at stoppages, they want Ryder in as the main ruck ASAP. If not this weekend, it'll be the weekend after.

I think JHayes can stay in. Wood gets dropped, and Membrey, who isn't very tall and has a big tank, can play further up the ground and on the wing.

Because somebody has to come out for Ryder, and it's not going to be Marshall, King or Membrey. Wood is the obvious out, but maybe they'll be too tall. Who knows? Stranger things have happened. They clearly want Ryder playing as the 1st ruck.
Hayes has been excellent in his first two games. Be very strange indeed if they dropped him.

Looks like Hayes will be making way then.

Even if he stays in, he'll be third tall behind King and Marshall with Membrey up the ground. I don't see a lot of ball coming his way.

Oh well, Ryder will be lucky to last a month anyway.

For those contemplating English, Naughton has a deep corkie in his calf. The well is dry for tall forwards at the Dogs.

Schache? He sucks but so does Martin, at least if you bring him back rather than push English forward you're only ruining one position rather than two.

Schache isn’t a tall forward despite his height. Sweet is probably a better tall forward than Martin which isn’t saying much. English far better than both. Will be interesting to see.

No surprise there unfortunately. He's achieved everything there is to achieve. Was very close to his dad. Outlook on life has probably changed as a result of his passing.

Tarryn Thomas out for a number of weeks by the sounds of it. NO broken ribs but internal injuries. Sounds ugly.

Not really SC relevant, but...

McCreery out for 3-4 weeks (might open the door for a Reef McInnes debut)

Roughy coming on faster, rd 5-6 return for him

Dean still in a moonboot. Available rd 8-10 (hope nobody started him)

Alright you big kent, you get another chance.

He won’t pass it.

“Sean (Darcy) turned his ankle pretty sharply in the third quarter against the Saints. There is a lot of swelling there and we will see how that progresses over the next couple of days, but there is a possibility that he will be available this week."

If Darcy plays this week, I'd put good money that he'll be subbed off injured again. Doesn't sound good at all

What are owners doing? Holding and playing JHayes, or trading? Ankles are a pain, especially on such a heavy bloke

I can hold if he misses this week. But any more than that and he's gone.

Zero chance he plays.

Most likely correct, I've had ankle problems for a long time and it does take a while for recovery even with say a cortisone injection and a decent Anti-inflammatory like Mobic. With the physical demands of AFL along with his sheer size, I am being overly optimistic he plays. But still praying he does!
His coach didn’t sound confident at all.

Holding.
There's no one to trade him to anyways, not game enough flick him to another line and run Hayes at R2 until Xerri gets R status.
Would require a boost to move him on this week too, not a fan of that. Getting in Hewett and Stephens more important for me.
