Can’t see Johnson not getting re-signed, players with X factor are hard to find.
Given the talent he’s shown, only a poor attitude would sink him.
It’ll be line ball, IMO.

He’s on the rookie list so will get a new contract, unless they think there will be someone better in the rookie draft at the end of the year
Not like he is taking up a senior spot

Spots are limited. Mature age recruit who has been injured. Club will have to be confident he fits into the side. With other players pushing their case, along with what the club think they can get in the draft, could easily be pushed out.

If you haven't seen these highlights just have a look, or if you have watch them again!! Especially at the "run in" goal he kicks (about 40 seconds in)! He has some serious talent, and we can afford to keep him on the list a bit longer, and hope he can show what he can do at senior level soon enough. We just don't have many players at all who can do this sort of thing.

Dean was vfl player of the year, there’s some pretty good past afl players that won that. Johnson was tearing up the vfl before he got injured. Im def hopeful of both.
I get it but we won’t know until they get a run, both might well make a difference, just being realistic. We’ve definitely had success through this path and Hawthorn seem to have a bargain, let’s hope or recruiters got it right.

Have you watched him at VFL? He was dominating before the injury. He’s not getting delisted. He’s got talent in spades unlike some other list cloggers

I don’t think he’ll have an issue getting another contract. He’s shown enough promise to get another year or two. There are other players in a far more precarious position than him.

He was probably our best VFL Player before his Hammy.

Was Super Impressive

No way Johnson gets delisted. Senior spot was imminent before he was delisted, would offer a great bit of excitement along our small forwards as a taller target.

I would not even had 1 though of about De-Listing Johnson as was Impressive at VFL Level Pre-Hammy

Defender Will Kelly edges close to a return from a hip issue and will aim to fully train this week in order to put his hand up for selection.

Brodie Grundy's surgeon review was successful, the ruckman now able to complete lower body work in the gym. Grundy will remain in the knee brace for two weeks before starting a running program.

Ash Johnson will begin full training this week. The 24-year-old is set to target a return through the VFL before the bye.

Similarly, Charlie Dean is starting to join some full training drills. The new recruit should be available after the bye round.

Defender Jack Madgen is making good steps in the early phase of his shoulder rehabilitation. He will look to be ready for a senior return in round 15.
