Overshooting the pit box by almost 2m, forcing the pit crew to move before they could put the tyres on, may have had something to do with it!
It was, well and truly, given the gap between the cars. There may have been a slight overcut effect as well.
So... SVG burns an extra tyre, resulting in a net loss of 1 position. The 4 extra seconds he spent in the pits dropped him 2 positions, of which he only got 1 back on the track. At least it allowed him to get the fastest lap bonus points.
I wonder if the decision to burn an extra tyre in race 1 will impact his chances in race 2 or 3 tomorrow?

Will Davison with a huge .229 (1:01.921) over the field in the 2nd race for today (Race 29). Very nice performance by him in qualifying. The only person into the 1:01's today.

Feel for ADP there with the crash, just a wrong place wrong time sort of thing.
Brown was just unusual to end up where he did with running that wide on the outside, but Winterbottom didn't leave him any room to stay on the tarmac.
SVG was a smartarse rolling out of the throttle like that after the restart to stooge Davison. Funny attempted move from Wil, though. SVG too good and didn't look like being headed, as usual.

The question which still remains unanswered was why was ADP in the wrong place to begin with? He was going backwards at a rapid rate of knots, well before he got punted into the wall. What was going on with his car before the collision?

WTF was the airspike guy doing for Davison; just threw away the win by dropping it less than a second too early... or was it the left-rear guy who cross-threaded the nut shrug.
Now that was some epic racing between Waters and SVG. Beautiful stuff. Punches thrown left right and centre, nobody going down! SVG just a touch too good in making the criss-cross pass stick. Waters really cost himself with those two lockups; had an easy win otherwise.
