West Coast are the team that concerns me the most. They have an ageing list and they were very very ordinary in the second half of the year. I can see them sliding. I can see Geelong taking a break from the top 8 after that demoralising PF loss.
St Kilda underperformed this year so I can see them bounce back to be the top 4 bolter. There's almost always someone from the top 4 that misses the 8 and someone from outside of the 8 that leaps into the top 4. They are my pick.

Bookies are going to make a killing if people actually put money on Hawthorn winning the spoon.
Hawthorn are the most difficult to place. They could challenge for a spot in the 8, but they could also be outright wooden spooners. Very similar to Essendon before the 2021 season.

Why? Their finals performances in the past couple of years have been disappointing and they have fallen well short in games against the big guns at home, except for one win against the Tigers who went on to win the flag in 2020. They are close, but to light that cigar they better make an improvement somewhere? I have them in the top 4, but wouldn't surprise me if they missed out?

The Tigers went out in three successive finals campaigns then missed them all together before coming back and being a force. Lions are a finals contender and one of the youngest lists in the competition. Don't think it's out of the realms of possibility we miss finals but even if we do it's not like we won't be able to compete again.

That would make it CFAWTC then...

Speaking of choking:

Oh, and it might be time to change your bio too.

Oh I'm sorry, "CaFawtC".
There, it's been edited for greater accuracy.
How can one team choke when an umpire directs a player from the opposition to kick the ball at least ten metres from where it should have been kicked?

I reckon the Bulldogs will drop out of the 8 next year

That kind of embarrassing capitulation in a Grand Final is hard to come back from
Hawks had 11 goals against them in last quarter of 1985 grand final.
Next year they made the finals. They then made the grand final. Then won the premiership.

Dogs will make finals again next year. Too good a team not to make it.

The fact you had to go back 36 years to a totally different era when the game wasn't even professional helps my point
