West Coast
North Melbourne

How have we all gone?
I got Port Adelaide and Gold Coast essentially right and half way through the season my much criticised Carlton pick looked good but other than that, a poor prediction.

1. Brisbane
2. Sydney
3. GWS
4. Western Bulldogs
5. Melbourne
6. Port Adelaide
7. Fremantle
8. Collingwood

9. Carlton

17. St Kilda
18. West Coast

Premiers - Brisbane

Brownlow Medallist - Sam Walsh (Carlton)

Rising Star - Braeden Campbell (Sydney)

Coleman Medallist - Lance Franklin (Sydney)

3 Headline Predictions:

1. Brave Pies swoop on final top 8 spot in early elimination final against old rival

2. Buddy Franklin takes out Coleman Medal and surpasses Doug Wade to move to 4th on all time AFL/VFL goal kicking tally

3. Brisbane to face off against Bulldogs as football’s grandest day finally returns to the home of football
Did this back in January this year.

1. Got close enough to predicting an Eagles spoon

2. Predicted the final round game between the Pies and Blues would result in the Pies eliminating the Blues from the top 8 (although I meant both sides would be playing for the final spot in the 8)

3. Sorry Cats and Tigers fans I will never write you guys off again

4. Around the mark with the Swannies, Fremantle, Hawks, Suns and Crows

5. Overall picked 6/8 of the top 8 sides and 8/10 bottom 8 sides

Ok my ladder prediction is
1.Geelong
2. Melbourne
3. Sydney
4. Collingwood
5. Fremantle

1. Melbourne - well coached, well drilled team. Happy to back them in for another 17 or 18 wins. Too much top end midfield talent to flop.
2. Brisbane Lions - look fit and primed, and look to have made some changes they needed to earlier. Best forward mix in the game.
3. Essendon - good side with good depth. Plenty of youngsters on the improve with few veterans on the decline. Big things to come
4. Western Bulldogs - too much high end talent across the pitch. Should be up there despite the curse that is laid upon clubs who get trounced in grannies
5. Sydney Swans - highly dependant on Franklin and Rampe producing great seasons as they approach retirement. Plenty of upside in youngsters elsewhere
6. Fremantle - wasn't really big on them until lately but they appear to have had a big pre-season. Need Fyfe to play 20 games and Mundy to play another year of great footy
7. Geelong - clearly enough talent to play finals but I imagine cracks will begin to appear in the middle as an old side gets older
8. Carlton - look really good forward of centre. Still a bit suss on their defensive group but I think Voss will finally get this club to play finals

9. GWS Giants - could be top four with a friendly injury run I reckon, but I think injury and suspension will continue to trouble them and prevent them from reaching their full potential
10. Port Adelaide - statistically a side from nearly every top four drops outside the bottom eight. I think after two home preliminary final losses, the sting has been taken out of Port and much like their runs in 2007 and 2014, will see a big sudden drop out of contention
11. Richmond - midfield too thin to compete at the top anymore, especially after hearing of Lambert's injury. I think Dimma needs to stop letting Dusty do his own thing and make him play permanently in the middle again where he made Richmond a champion team in 2017.
12. Hawthorn - looked ugly, ugly, ugly in the scratch match last week but I still think they have a solid team that can challenge for finals.
13. St Kilda - I just don't really rate them. Too much C grade talent.
14. Collingwood - how quickly can a bunch of sub-20 gamers develop? Their finish will be dependant on a number of factors that I can't be bothered listing. Still a wooden spoon chance.
15. West Coast - been off them a very long time. I don't think their "stars" are prepared to work hard enough and I think they're very thin for depth. Well and truly up against it this season.
16. Adelaide - I rate Nicks highly as a coach but their list is still very thin. If Walker can't play another AA level season I struggle to see many winning scores coming from this lot
17. North Melbourne - think folks are getting too carried away with a side that still needs another season or two. Back line needs a lot of work.
18. Gold Coast - after a rough start that sees only 1 or 2 wins before the bye, a Clarkson succession plan will be announced
1. Melbourne (came 2nd - tick)
2. Brisbane Lions (came 6th... miss)
3. Essendon (no comment)
4. Western Bulldogs (miss)

13. St Kilda (10th. Eh. Leaning toward cross as they came close to finals)
14. Collingwood (miss)
15. West Coast (17th. Not far off, however with only 2 wins I'd give it a miss)
16. Adelaide (14th. Tick?)
17. North Melbourne (tick)
18. Gold Coast (miss)

Amazed so many people rate the Dogs over the Lions.

Lions were the only club that challenged us in finals and if it wasn’t for crappy umpiring they would have played off in the grand final instead.

Not to mention the Dogs are soft as.
Nice one Toump Ass!!!!

I think I had my worst year yet for this thread. Not one good call among them, a high number shockers (eg GWS, West Coast, Sydney).
I still think West Coast were more hit by covid than most think, but not enough to justify that pick.

Far too early, but whatever. I reserve the right to change absolutely everything after trade period and the fixture, and whichever team gets pummelled to buggery with February injuries.

-----> really should play finals
Port Adelaide
Melbourne
Richmond
Brisbane
Western Bulldogs

-----> remaining finalists should come from this group
Essendon
Greater Western Sydney
St Kilda
===========================================
West Coast
Geelong

-----> could well be pushing for finals
Sydney
Fremantle

-----> could play finals, but its a serious stretch and 8-9 wins is a pass
Carlton
Collingwood

-----> year of nothing
Adelaide

-----> seven wins would be a big year
Hawthorn
Gold Coast
North Melbourne - if Tarrant is leaving, 2022 won't be any better than 2020 and 2021
