Prediction 2022 ladder after 23 rounds

I wouldn’t be shocked if the Crows rise up quickly. They humiliated us and Melbourne last year. They don’t normally stay down the ladder usually in the mix

Although I’d rather them stay down until Dangerflog retires so they can get over their one sided rivalry

Premiers - Brisbane

Brownlow Medallist - Sam Walsh (Carlton)

Rising Star - Braeden Campbell (Sydney)

Coleman Medallist - Lance Franklin (Sydney)

3 Headline Predictions:

1. Brave Pies swoop on final top 8 spot in early elimination final against old rival

2. Buddy Franklin takes out Coleman Medal and surpasses Doug Wade to move to 4th on all time AFL/VFL goal kicking tally

3. Brisbane to face off against Bulldogs as football’s grandest day finally returns to the home of football
Your absolutely right with Prediction 3
The Grand Final will return to the home of football Optus Stadium AGAIN.

My current guess after regulation

1.Melbourne
2.Brisbane
3. Sydney
4. Western Bulldogs
5. GWS
6. Carlton
7. Essendon
8. St Kilda
9. Geelong
10. Richmond

15. Gold Coast
16. Hawthorn
17. Collingwood
18. West Coast

5 - 12 is extremely difficult to predict this season, even more so than usual. Although top 4 and bottom 6 are easier for me.

At the very least there shouldn't be any more than 2 teams from the finals last year dropping out this time around.

Sydney in third after losing Dawson and Hewitt…?

Yes. I'm still strong on the Swans chances this year. The youth coming through is just as good as Essendon's and Port's draft crops. On top of that though, their key position stocks are still solid. Franklin and Sinclair without injuries as well as Mclean, Hickey, Mcdonald, Reid and now Ladhams in the mix give the team good depth in the tall stacks.

Played around with the ladder predictor and got close to my initial prediction. Like I said though the low-end finals and mid-table teams are all really close.
And of course, coming out and predicting 3 draws (AFC V PAFC, CAR V ESS, and DOGS V GIANTS) are all games which can shuffle the top 8 teams if they are to go one way or the other.

I did a ladder predictor which is always silly, but did it before I even jotted down a ladder.
I think Freo will make the 8 but yet they didn't in this excercise.
Maybe I was too harsh on St Kilda.
Dons that high?
I would have thought the Swans and GWS would have been in the 8 if I had done a ladder without the predictor.
I also don't think Collingwood will finsh 18th.
This is based on both Perth teams playing at home.
Don't take offence, it's just a stupid predictor and will be nowhere near accurate.

Melbourne 20-2

2 wins for the Pies? We should get a priority pick.

A massive admirer of what Richmond achieved and possibly the best team I have seen with those 4 years of dominance but if people think they are going to waltz back into the top 4 and premiership contention they need their head read. They could make the 8 but will earn it along the way that is for sure.

They have had a lot of good draft picks so I agree they should get back to the 8 fairly quickly. Whether they get to top 4 or even win another flag who knows.

2022 might be their last shot. They have 8 players 30 or older which is the 2nd most (Lambert, Grimes, Martin, Riewoldt, cotchin, edwards + tarrant, Pickett) and not just any player, important ones, first 6 anyway. Which is older than eagles (5 30+ players) just behind Geelong (11)

Richmond’s next Premiership is in 2024. And then six years later in 2030 with a new coach. Opponents probably Collingwood.

Then the den will set it self on fire and will rise again in 30-40 years…

Then the den will set it self on fire and will rise again in 30-40 years…
and here’s the explanation,

Richmond win five Premierships in three decades followed by a lengthy drought.

They won 5 Premierships in the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s then followed by a 24 drought. They rose up again with 5 Premierships in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s then followed by 37 year drought. They currently are in their 3rd reign with 3 Premierships in 10’s and 20’ so there two to go with the last one finishing in the 30’s. Then the drought (which gets longer each time) will last 40-45 years. End of each reign is a loss in a Grand Final.

So being a Richmond supporter it’s important which generation to be born.
