Hmmm, maybe a radical move would be to play Dawson on a wing?

Yep .....and Dawson was taking those Wing contested marks at certain stages ....he'll certainly be more valuable up around the midfield .....but he's value anywhere he plays

His best marking was playing the defensive kick behind the play role where he saved numerous oppo attacks, however his role seemed to change this season playing more around the contest or even forward of the play. Had to be a coaching move I think?

Agreed .....where his contested marking was needed most, around the Wings ..this is where he suffered

Those midfield contested marks are invaluable .....provide an outlet from DEF & sets the attack up, where players can start their offensive attack with confidence

I'd rather a game plan where ROB took marks a kick behind play like Rehn used to if that could free up dawson to be on a wing and pushing forward. If rob could be that extra mark behind play, it could allow us to be more dangerous with our best players around the ball and forward of centre

Rob is not smart enough to play like that.

Yes Rehn did it, but it takes great reading of play to know when to drift back and also where the play is likely to go. Then you actually have to take the mark.

This isn't easy and ROB is not capable of this.

Rob is a workhorse and is capable of taking a contested grab, but will never be a Rehn type player.

Our best and only bet with ROB is it he can somehow out work the opposition ruck over and run them into the ground.

and this was about taylor possibly asking for a trade for more opportunity if you even bothered to read the topic. In no way would you trade him and keep keays in the middle unless you're you know, stupid.

If Thilthorpe can provide the down then line aerial contest stronger next season then surely ROB needs to revert to that which is his strength and where he can help team most

I love Taylor but I wouldn’t say he’s ahead of Keays given he hasn’t debuted yet and Keays was top 3 of B and F
