It's pretty known they want home grown talent with their picks and there's 6 in the top 30 to choose from. Busslinger, Ginbey, Hewett, Allen, Jones, Gilbey.

Pretty known?

Did the club say that?

What the Eagles do is keep their cards very close to their chest. We rarely get any solid Intel or leaks out of them pre draft. If anything the things said in the media are broad statements that can be interpreted any way the listener feels like it.

If Eagles used 20 or 26 on him no issues.

No way he slides to Freo. But you would know that.
Yep, our only chance is (and it’s a very slim one at that) if eagles pass on Allan at 20 thinking they’ll get him at 26, then the bulldogs bid on Davey at 21, we might be able to trade 30 and 44 with Essendon for 22 (so their next pick is higher than matching with pick 22) then the bulldogs don’t take Allan.
It’s a very long shot and would mean our next pick is 67 but he’s exactly the player we need to replace Acres on a wing.

I don't really see us being desperate to replace the wing position but would love Allan to join. As well as a current list option, Worner as a direct wing replacement seems viable, and Sharp wanted to join this year and is out of contract at the end of this season.

We also could consider:
  • Fyfe returning to the midfield and Brayshaw to the wing
  • Wilson or Hughes in to defence and Chapman to the wing
  • Ultam Kelm from Ireland is also being discussed as a likely Cat B addition and would immediately create options for us either on the wing or hbf
  • Jackson has been discussed as having some time on the wing
And in the end I expect Aish to play more minutes on the wing which seems his natural position.

Happy days as a GWS fan would tick off on all of those picks, with the amount of picks we have we can afford to have George sit a year especially when he's that talented

Hotton at 27 would be incredible for Hawthorn I'd imagine.
Seems like a pretty balanced draft haul for each team as well, wouldn't think that many fans would be unhappy with this.

Jhye Clark by Geelong shows how they're a little off. Wouldn't read too much into it.

Why do you say that?
What Kinder's alluding to is the word internally at Geelong is apparently that they're more interested in Busslinger, Mackenzie, Ginbey, Phillipou, or other options rather than just taking the Geelong boy in Clark. For what it's worth I think he'll be best available at your pick, but I'm not sure he works with your midfield being well-developed and bringing in Bowes and especially Bruhn to play his role. Reporters that just throw Clark up for Geelong because of where he is from come off as lazy. I wouldn't be surprised if they went with him, but I reckon he's more likely to go to Hawthorn, West Coast, or Carlton than the Cats. But the Selwood comparison and Geelong Factory just make such a compelling narrative that it's a safe go-to for journos. We'll know more about what your recruiting team is thinking if you lot have ITKs leaking info on your board or when Twomey puts out his phantom since he's usually well-connected this close to the draft.
