Just theorising.... but if we go with Hore, then I reckon that would've played a part in Luff and Finnegan walking out. Those two would've wanted players that would compliment our rebuild.

Hore is a known quantity, give the potential upside of D'Ambrosio or El Nour over him any day of the week.

Wonder were the talk of us selecting Hore started or came from.

Can’t see any media articles that have us linked to Hore and wasn’t even on the list of candidates to undergo medicals.

Would be a huge blindside if selected.

We were going to pre-list him at the start of the year when he was training with us. We couldn't figure out a way to get Lynch's salary under the soft cap so he ended up getting the last list spot.

Hore as then stayed on in our VFL side in the hope to be picked up.

Hore has been one of the shining lights to our VFL team.

My guess is they would want to keep him there to provide some senior leadership alongside Dom Tyson.

IE if you've got heaps of cash just give the AFL a million bucks and you can spend whatever you want on your footy department.

I dunno if it works like this in practice but it looks like this is specifically designed to benefit clubs with alot of resources and put a ceiling on how much money smaller/poorer clubs can spend. Smaller clubs are less likely to be able to afford the "tax" for exceeding the soft cap, bigger caps have less reason to care.

Its the sort of s**t you have to expect with a McLaughlin running things I guess.

Given no one is paying any extra and spending well above the cap, I'd say there is evidence to support it
