Isn't that the Forwards thread?
You know me too well. My back line is full primo. My forward line pretty much full mid price. And my “midfield” is mostly mid/forward swing players.

Matt Crouch. Complete squib of a footy player. But he wouldn’t be the first squib I’ve pick in my SC team.

Can anyone make a case against him at 480K? And, no, the fact that Rowell is cheaper is not enough of an argument because I have both at the moment.

No In supercoach
Yes in fantasy

much more likely to take those sketchy risks in fantasy this year where I think trading is easier. Crouch types aren’t worth it in supercoach to start imo. Great price but happy to see him average 115 for 10 weeks without injury to consider him. For all we know his groin doesn’t get better and he’s 350k next year again

Wait and see his pre season form but I don’t think he’s a good pick for next year

How fit do you need to be to get 400 handball receives and 400 2-metre handball gives.

Even the years he’s averaged 110ppg in SuperCoach the guy looks like he jogs between contests in slow motion.

You'd be better off with Cripps for slightly less, way more upside.

Didn't Mrouch have a injury setback recently? Might be thinking of someone else though......

Ha!

You’ve just triggered about 100,000 SuperCoacher. Nice work.

Please tell us what the "upside" is with Cripps?

Well he's quite tall.

Being serious his upside is obvious isn't it? If he gets back to anything like his best he could improve his average by 25+ points. Will he? No idea but he's got some better mid's around him now in Walsh, Cerra, and Hewett. That will help. It probably comes down to his fitness though, he barely got through some games last year.

Great points but still not a good starting pick imo
Have my reasons
Will look at him as an upgrade as his back end is where he does the most damage if you look at history. Something I hope many get caught out on

I’m convinced Teague was the reason Cripps scoring dropped off
He took the pressure off Crippa to spread the load and it didn’t work. The back half of 2019 his last big year you’ll see he yo-yo’d from 100+ to sub 100 each round after Teague took over when murphy and curnow went back into the midfield. When Bolton was in charge he was giving Dow and other kids time on ball and it was helping Cripps scoring doing all the work.

i think Voss will find the right balance between him dominating inside and what Teague was Trying to do in spreading the load off Cripps with hewett cerra Walsh kennedy dow etc
Their midfield looks a streak better depth wise now and I can see him going 105+
Still reckon Walsh will average more with his gut running but Cripps will do well this year! He’ll be fit and is a supercoach stud

The inside types like he and Oliver and titch are always staples in my team and I’m sure I’ll be tempted to start him

As “SuperCrouch” I absolutely love the guy and have owned him more often than not. Sadly I think we are very very worried about his groins , surgery x2 and continue to flare up . Wanted a 4 year deal , had no takers so accepted a 2 year take or leave .If he gets on the park regularly this year I can see his normally low TOG being eaten into by Hately , Pedlar , Berry , 2020 . Soligo and Taylor 2021 draft all inside mid ball hunters , Dawson , McHenry getting mid time according to Nicks . Hope I’m wrong and he tears it up but Ben Keays with 173 pts last game king pin in the middle now .

Thank you. That’s pretty comprehensive.

Surely Laird is the main man for the Crows now? Does everything Mrouch did only faster and better and runs out games.

Reckon Laird would be a great POD this year, he's just as relevant as the Merrett's and Petracca's imo.

Clearly , seems I take the gnome for granted and still think of him as a defender in terms of SC .

agree great pod.

So, who is your first primo midfielder picked?

Am I crazy to double down on Sam Walsh? One of my first picked last year and served me well. Bit more competition for points at Carlton this year I guess . . .

Jack Steele, never had him and he still hasn't got any support.
