"Woods (AFL): There is clearly a risk of concussion or serious neck injury or something of that nature in an action of this kind. The guidelines are very much concerned with the potential to cause injury and rightly so."

So now you are unable to tackle someone to the ground...

"Woods (AFL) is showing Robbie Tarrant's tackle on Sam Wicks from R22, 2021, which resulted in careless conduct, low impact and high contact.
Woods says Kelly exerts "significantly more force" in his incident."

May want to roll out the Cotchin footage FROM THE SAME ROUND THIS YEAR ID**T.

EDIT: that resulted in a fine :tearsofjoy:

"Tribunal chairman Jeff Gleeson said the potential to cause injury was "significant" as Berry was slung 360 degree with his feet off the ground and the arm that could have protected his fall pinned."

So you have to pin the "correct" arm in order for it not to be dangerous?
What a piss-weak excuse for a decision.

I'd appeal again 100%

What a load of shit.
Clear as day to see how the Adelaide player contributes to this.

“Potential to do significant injury”
Pickett for Richmond tapped Bailey in the chest and he coughed up blood and went to hospital? If we’re penalising potential injuries not basing on force isn’t this worse?

Based on this Cripps about to get 8 weeks.

Let’s see how the rules magically change for his case now

The AFL world will explode when they clear Cripps
Carlton lawyer: But its Patrick Cripps the captain?
AFL lawyer : Ohm though it was the Cripps from WCE, we withdraw the charge he is free to play.

If it doesnt get overturned again, should just go on strike over the potential to cause injury by playing.

Ahhh the potential to injure card...unlucky for Kelly the AFL played that one this time.
I'm assuming it didn't get played in the Cotchin one otherwise he wouldn't have just got a fine.
How do 2 similar acts 1 has the potential to injure and the other doesn't?

Tribunal chairman needs to take a refresher in geometry if he thinks Berry was slung 360 degrees

Having watched both for the first time today, The Cotchin sling is around half the speed of the Kelly one. Looks really sedate by comparison.
Yeah just had a look. Cotchins tackle was slow. As annoying as it is Kelly did tackle him fast and hard at 360 degrees. It's a 50/50 for suspension.

Doesn't really matter anyhow given its the last 2 games. These last two weeks I have absolutely 0% interest. No Kelly, No Culley, No Kennedy. Nothing to play for. Playing two finals contenders that have everything to play for. Both games will be a blood bath. Just try not to lose by a record margin is the goal
