Absolutely stoked with the Luke Fickell hire. Intrigued to see what happens with Jim Leonhard now, really like him.

I would take him at Stanford, but there are more about 10 jobs open.

The best results for us this week will be wins for TCU, Michigan, and USC. Basically, anything that stops OSU getting into the playoffs. They are the only team I worry about having to face.

I don't see why a player going back for their senior year is such a big deal.

If you ain't playing, you're praying this weekend.

TCU and USC won't want to put their date in the hands of the committee with a loss.

Ohio are first cab off the rank if one of those teams fall. I think Georgia and Michigan are in regardless

Because if theyve had an elite year they’re turning away elite money at the risk of serious injury or reversal of form that can make them obsolete in 12 months time

As a Buckeye I'll of course be cheering hard for USC and TCU. If USC loses we are 100% in. If TCU loses I'd say 80%.

One could argue that we should go in ahead of a 1 loss USC anyway even if they are PAC-12 champion. We play in a stronger conference (so much stronger that USC is leaving PAC-12 to join us...) and our loss was against a stronger team. There is also precedent from a few years back where we were in fact a one loss Big-10 champion and they put in Bama at #4, despite them not playing in their conference playoff. Bama won the national championship that year...

It won't happen given these latest rankings, but there could have been an argument.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said OC Greg Roman was contacted about the opening for the Stanford head coaching job.

Harbaugh reportedly believes it was a "preliminary" offer and said, "We'll just cross that bridge when we get to it" when questioned about it. Roman was under Jim Harbaugh at Stanford for two seasons (2009, 2010) as the team's tight ends and offensive tackles coach, and would be a logical hire given his familiarity with the program. If Roman is to accept the job, it's unlikely he would leave before the conclusion of the 2022 season

Ohio State would. but the debate between Alabama and Tennessee would be interesting. but would go Alabama's way because of the Hooker injury, even with the Vols having the H2H. it was interesting keeping Alabama above Tennessee.

the committee will also be looking for any excuse to keep TCU out. they have been ranking them poorly since the first rankings.

Getting blown out by South Carolina means Tennessee have no chance of getting in. Alabama's 2 losses are by a combined 4 points. They easily get in ahead of the Vols.

Alabama should be a 4 loss team, the Texas game the refs saved them, the A&M game A&M blew it.

Both are undeserving of making it, but if both TCU and USC lose. i might lean towards TCU [if its a close loss] but i know the committee hate them and wont even think about it.

But a Clemson champ with a big win could also enter the conversation. who are also undeserving of being ranked so high.
