Have the day off work ...... well thats every Friday actually :) only work a four day week now ...... transitioning to retirement.

I generally start the day with high hopes and full of optimism, a list of names on a note pad, to put the highlighter pen through as they come off the board and watch and wait and wait eagerly and then WAIT some more ............. only for Belichik to screw up my morning, by trading down and out of the first round..... sigh .... curse %**&^$ ..... :boom: ....... then off to JB Hi Fi to buy a new remote control to replace the old one, that just got smashed into the wall above the TV with more force than a Hail Mary into the Red Zone, with 4 seconds left in the 4th quarter being down by 2 point.

you'd be smashing your remote every week watching west coast mate. :tearsofjoy:

Looking forward to seeing which of the draftees has the saddest back-story...
Well ESPN have 500 draft profiles/videos. It might be easier to pick one that doesnt get a sad backstory

In all seriousness is this the most under-hyped draft day in a long time?

I keep reading things about teams looking to trade down..

Anyway looking forward to it - been a nice two months not focusing on /avoiding football let the 10 month cycle begin

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport calls the Bills the most likely team to use a first-round pick on a running back, with Iowa State's Breece Hall the most probable selection.

Rapsheet is not saying Hall is the Bills' most likely pick, only that it is where most of the first-round dots connect for a running back class not considered terribly likely to hear any of its names called on Night 1. There has been persistent Bills/running back chatter throughout draft season, though it has never seemed like a slam dunk the way it was with Pittsburgh and Najee Harris in 2021. We will know soon enough.

Pro Football Network's Aaron Wilson reports Florida State edge rusher Jermaine Johnson could go as high as No. 4 to the Jets.

Wilson reports Johnson has been experiencing a "meteoric rise" in his stock. The Jets were amongst Johnson's pre-draft visits, though we know that doesn't mean very much. The Jets continue to be linked to defense at No. 4, with a receiver seeming more likely for their second first-round selection at No. 10.

The Athletic's Connor Hughes reports there is "a lot — a lot — of chatter" about Cincinnati CB Sauce Gardner being drafted by the Jets.

The cornerback-needy Jets own the No. 4 and 10 picks. There has been buzz LSU's Derek Stingley could end up the first cornerback off the board, but Gardner was the most commonly predicted top corner for most of the offseason. Hughes reports the Gardner-to-Jets talk has been late breaking over the past 1-2 weeks. We will know soon enough.

ESPN's Rich Cimini reports that the Jets could trade for Deebo Samuel during the first round of the draft.

Cimini speculates that the Jets and 49ers could both be waiting to see who is available when the Jets are on the clock with the No. 10 pick. Cimini characterized a trade as "ain't dead yet," and it's fair to assume the potential trade is a bit of a longshot. However, with a receiver like Drake London, Garrett Wilson, or Jameson Williams available, it's possible that the 49ers decide to move on from Samuel—who is reportedly unwilling to sign a new contract with San Francisco.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Texans are exploring a trade up from No. 13 to within the top 10.

The Texans hold the No. 3 and No. 13 picks but are looking to make two selections in the top 10, "if the right player is there." It's possible that the Texans are eyeing a wide receiver, given that as many as three wide receivers could be off the board before Houston is up at 13. Given their depleted roster, one might expect the Texans to move back and acquire additional assets, but that does not appear to be the plan.

:(

ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio reports that the Jaguars would like to move off the No. 1 pick but cannot find a trade partner.

The Jaguars are expected to take Georgia's Travon Walker if they stay at No. 1, although that is far from a sure thing. Aidan Hutchinson, long thought to be the first overall pick could entice a team to move up, allowing the Jaguars to get Walker and additional capital from a small trade down. However, the Lions and Texans could also be eyeing different players, making it difficult to generate trade interest within the top four picks. Without a quarterback to drive the trade market, the Jaguars will most likely make the No. 1 selection.
