Watch Bailey Smith play closely. Runs up and down the inside of the field, takes marks and kicks. Does not get his hands dirty.Bulldogs mids IMO are overrated. They pad their stats a lot with their give and get style but it doesn't actually accomplish much. Five stationary blokes sharing handballs in a circle is not the same as run and carry fellas.
Anyone think blues are any chance of turning this around? They certainly have their work cut out for them
Two goals to finish the quarter certainly helps. But prior to that it looked like they had no hope of stopping St Kilda's run and carry. They can but have to kind of show up and play.

Early days yet, plenty of time for Carlton.Carlton have usually have great 2nd qs. See if they right the ship
Apropos of nothing, really but tonight's lineups show that Carlton have 7 players that they were able to trade for, and St Kilda have 9.
In contrast, we have 2 (Franklin and Hickey) as well as a previously delisted player.
It just shows how difficult it is to attract good players to Sydney.
I don't disagree about your main point of the difficulty trading players in. Without the extras and cost of living advantages plus uprooting Swans have to pay a premium. GWS haven't traded a lot either, mainly through the draft.Apropos of nothing, really but tonight's lineups show that Carlton have 7 players that they were able to trade for, and St Kilda have 9.
