I can't see how you can not start Macrae and Steele assuming they are fit.Def and Fwd will sort itself out, I’m most paranoid about the plethora of SP Mids. Who to leave out?
Dunkley is going to be a key selection imo. Assuming De Goey isn't an option a lot of coaches will go for Dunkley. He could be a key POD if he bombs, or starts on fire like last season.Doesn't look promising.
But hopefully able to retain Marshall, Dunkley, Dusty, etc as their teams have a decent amount.
Interesting you have the magic number so low at 5374 given it was 7638 for the 2021 season.Rayner start price 2021 ($392,900) / 2020 average (73.1) = 5374.83 (magic number for 2021 starting prices)
30% discount $392,900 * 0.7 = $275,030. As mentioned earlier, don't hold your breath on him getting the full discount, it often doesn't happen.
FYI Macrae jnr 5374.83 * 38 (2021 average) = $204,243 so cheaper than Daicos will be. If he's getting a decent run in the mid's I'll take him at that price over a first year player like Ward.
The magic number will be different, but that is where everyone is getting these prices from. They probably won't be far off.
Are you thinking of AFL Fantasy? The prices are higher in that, so that number could be correct for the game? It's usually somewhere around 5500 for Supercoach, dropping gradually through year.Interesting you have the magic number so low at 5374 given it was 7638 for the 2021 season.
I’m basing my prices off the 2021 magic number and in Rayner’s case going off his 2020 average with a 30% discount not off his 2021 start price. Will be interesting to see how they come in when the game opens

Do you play SC? Stick around and join a league this season if you do![]()

FFS!Looks like the season is going to start on the Wednesday with Dees vs Doggies. Going to have to lock in 20-30% of our squads in really early.

can't wait, a flag unfurling and supercoach carnageLooks like the season is going to start on the Wednesday with Dees vs Doggies. Going to have to lock in 20-30% of our squads in really early.
Oliver and Macrae locks.
I wouldn't touch Gawn, Dale, Daniel
Hard look past Trac and Bont but we can't have them all unfortunately.
Dunkley mid/fwd pretty hard knock back if fit, can he stay fit?
I love Olli-pig but if any team is going to have a post-premiership hangover it's Melbourne.Oliver and Macrae locks.

How much of a Premiership hangover will MELB players exhibit this year ? .....If they slipped by 10% given what they'll cost, are they a wait & see (upgrade option) ?Oliver and Macrae locks.

And if any player is going to start drinking his own bath water after a premiership it's Piggy.
Reckons he's a trade in this year.

Ran to the bar for another frothyno premiership hangover, boys have already ran more than this time last preseason.
Bloody Whitfield will be Def/mid so I have to pick him again. Kent is easily capable of going 11011 GWS players maybe Josh Kelly gets DPP Fwd/Mid![]()

Usually i like grabbing at least 1 mid-priced midfielder but i dont think ill do that this season. I like Serong/LDU/Cerra and maybe even Rowell/N.
Anderson but i feel like i can find more mid-pricers on other lines to start the season.
My midfield will look something like: Miller, Steele, Walsh, Petracca/Oliver, Neale & rookies. I dont want to drop any of those 5 which is completely different strategy to last season where i started with Wines, Simpkin & Noah Anderson. The first 2 i kept all year and Anderson i dropped at an OK time before he really stopped producing.
Anyway, my thinking is that ill go with a strong-ish backline and my forwardline will be really weak. Currently i think ill grab Young and 2 of Milera/Day/Sicily as my D4-6.
Rucks look really interesting to me this season. I think ill avoid Grundy but i dont know who to pick out of Big O/English/Darcy/NicNat (maybe). In all likelihood i start Gawn but even that isnt 100% locked in. Definitely will be interesting as i doubt everyone will lock and load Gawn & Grundy. That said, im not fully opposed to going with that combo as Grundy could well end up averaging more this year than last. It still seems a good 'safe' option so it will depend on how much risk im willing to take on as to whether i tempt fate and go for a 'value' option.
My forwardline may end up something like: Marshall, Thomas, Rayner, JHF & 2 other rookies. It definitely looks weak on paper and i may end up downgrading a mid-priced defender in order to upgrade one of my 3 forwardline rookies but currently it looks like we should be able to start with at least 2 rookies on field in the forwardline.
So my team will look something like:
Lloyd, Stewart, Ridley, Young, Sicily, Day (2 rookies)
Miller, Oliver, Steele, Walsh, Neale, 3 Rookies (3 rookies)
Gawn, Darcy (Comben)
Marshall, T.Thomas, Rayner, JHF, 2 Rookies (2 rookies)
