Well that sucks. Or maybe not as Marshall would have been in every team.
Forward lines are going to be chaos next season![]()
I'm really not sure about Walsh.
I started him last season and he was great. He was fantastic... when he was like $500k. But next season he's gonna be what, $630k? Plus they're adding Cerra and Hewett to their midfield mix. Hell who knows, Cripps could even stop playing like a crab and steal points off him as well.
I dunno, I'm just not sure I see the upside.
No Marshall is a bugger. Maybe Tim English @ $468k becomes an option.
JHF mid only is surprising, one less forward rookie.
Dunkley almost a lock now. Hewitt tempting as a cheaper defender ($387k)
This is my concern if you willHow many midfielders, or footballers in general, go backwards or even stagnate from their third to their fourth year?
He came ninth in SC in his third year. And next year he's a fourth year. You can't see upside?
Plus, apparently he's whacked on 5 kegs and by the looks it's all steel sinew.
For me he's an absolute lock

Would be highly enticing if low 300s, almost 400 is a little annoyingHewitt at D4 might be a goer.

I think "absolute lock" can be thrown around for 8 or so mids
Everyone will be looking for some reason to steer themselves towards their 4-5 starting picks
Awesome - Thanks mate.Key Fantasy positions club-by-club

We have a lot of options on every line.
This is going to be an interesting year.
D/M is 100% happening.

I have no doubt that there are examples of footballers that stagnate from their third to fourth.
I'm not necessarily saying that he's a bad pick, just that I'm not sure, and in a year where there's a plethora of elite mids I don't know if he's the best option.
I also think people are making too much out of the whole 5kgs things. It looks more to me like Carlton are making the exact same mistake with Walsh that they did with Cripps, packing too much weight onto his frame until it slowed him down. Walsh's best attributes were his speed, evasiveness, elite running and precise disposals. None of those things are going to be helped by an extra 5kgs.
Last season Touk Miller was (178cm - 83kgs) ball of muscle saw him dominate as an inside-outside running machine. Walsh on the other hand was listed as 183cm - 80kgs last season. 85kgs for his frame is ideal, especially if you look at that photo of him a few pages back looking absolutely ripped with f'all body fat. He looks like an Olympic level sprinter FFS. I'll be shocked if he doesn't go 120+ this year. Power & speed.

You may well be right about that.
He'll need to go 120+ though because he's already priced at 120
Edit: 117 actually, thought he averaged 119 last season
) breaks down again.3-5-2-2 Im thinking.I'm liking the look of a 4-4-1-4 starting lineup, but it's reliant on a decent cheap R2 showing.
3-5-2-2 Im thinking.
Im hoping to take a few forwards and defenders who are 200k - 300k in price. That's one of the ones I usually go for. Rookies will of course determine it, but I don't think Gawn+Grundy is necessarily going to be far and away the premiere ruck line this year, so I think I can go deeper in other lines.

Macrae, Phillips etc.
