Macrae's price never drops much though, you'll be needing $600k+ to get him.

Agree about not starting a m8. It's got to be either SP's or cash cows.

Cooling on starting Walsh or Oliver as they are more likely to have a stinker and drop in price.

Macrae you just start with him no questions asked no matter what price he is. It will be interesting to see if Crisp is Def/Mid next year having 7 defenders in the team really helped the back end of this season having that swing option with Laird.

For me its either Bont or Macrae not both.
If Im taking 4 x 600k mids i want them all to be captain options.
2 playing in the same game doesnt help.
Especially when i dont see the rucks as perma captain options next year.
Darcey will be a captain option, but will play a lot of Sunday games. Ideally he would be a VC though.

Hear what you're saying re:Bont. I had both this year which worked out well. Probably won't start Bont next year, especially if he wins the Brownlow.

Macrae first picked for me. Love him. Going for the consistent types that don't have stinkers is the plan. Lyons, Steele, Miller. Then get the others when they have down games.

Might even go only 4 deep in the mid's for extra cash gen.

Crisp could be. I reckon Whitfield will be d/m too.

DPP really helps doesn't it

Seems like there’s gonna be a ton of underpriced premos this year. I reckon I’ll go Macrae and Laird (had him in the midfield all this year) in the guys as captain options and then fill out the rest of the team with Crouch and co.

Will be hard not to pick Steele… he’s been next level.

Dylan Shiel 69% forward since returning from injury. I’d pick him next year if he gained FWD status. Would be cheap too.

That would be amazing for as long as he lasts next year. Kent is a bit injury prone, 2 years in a row now he's missed a lot of footy.
Going back to June or July, seemed like it was on the cards per HS, and he's had a non-CBA role since the return mostly, no?
Zorko would be a surprise of those that were listed at the time.

PLAYERS LIKELY TO RETAIN FORWARD STATUS
Josh Dunkley(WB)
2021 FWD-MID
Dayne Zorko(Bris) 2021 FWD-MID
Dustin Martin (Rich) 2021 FWD-MID
Shai Bolton (Rich) 2021 FWD-MID
Steele Sidebottom (Coll) 2021 FWD-MID
Patrick Dangerfield(Geel) 2021 FWD-MID
Isaac Smith (Geel) 2021 FWD-MID
Rowan Marshall(StK) 2021 RUC-FWD

Wasn't shaping as DEF eligible in that HS article, might have changed since, but sounded like no Crisp, no Whitfield. Dawson, Houston would be likelier.

That article quoted him at 32% defence at the time. So on that number, he doesn't qualify.

But he only has to have been 35% since then to now be at minimum 33% and qualify.

I feel like he is absolutely part of our back 7 even if he is frequently swung into the middle, so I reckon he deserves it.

I have a good feeling and will 100% start him next year in DEF if possible

There’s a chance, he was more DEF around rd 16-20, from memory, but he’s got to get to 35% on the seaso. Will be tight. 🤞

Zorko and Sidebum have been playing a lot of midfield due to other injuries, unlikely they are forwards next year imo. Also another year older, like Danger, so likely to start dropping off soon.

Dunkley and Marshall would have to be locks if they are forward eligible.

Yeah, reckon so, too.
Sidebottom looked to be slowing up a fair bit, Zorko not so much, tbf, he was very good this year.

That 35% number is interesting.

What if a player spends precisely 33% forward, 34% mid and 33% defence?

Do they not qualify for any position?

Surely 33% should be the number.

CD are too stupid for words at times

At this point Sidey is unhaveable in any position so who GAF what he's named as

It's just a bullshit number that they can manipulate as they please. Like the pricing of players.

Yeah, it’s a weird one.
I think they come at more from the perspective of having a hurde > 33% so that it eliminates the possibility of a bloke getting Triple Position status, but it would leave it open to a bloke being stuck in no man’s land.
Guess the chance of it happening is so low in their experience that they’re not accounting for it.
Would be interesting to see which player has come closest over the journey 👍

A few early mid price breakout contenders I’ll be watching closely over preseason

Harry Perryman, Nick Blakey, Will Day, Hayden Young, Luke Jackson, Pat Lipinksi (if traded)

Seemed to be plenty of HBF breakouts this year (Hind, Dale, Hall, Cumming etc) so will be looking for more of the same.

Also think Luke Jackson can do a Rowan Marshall and average over 100 in their 3rd year. Gawn will be the only thing holding him back

Some underpriced potential premos:
James Sicily (inj)
Lachie Whitfield (94 avg) Potential 110+
Jarrod Berry (45 avg [emoji33]) Potential 100+
Matt Rowell (60 avg) Potential 100+
Nat Fyfe (100 avg) Potential 115+
Lachie Neale (98 avg) Potential 120+
De Goey (84 avg) Potential 105+
Zak Butters (85 avg) Potential 100+
Rowan Marshall (96 avg) Potential 110+

Would look at M.Crouch or even Cogs over J. Berry .
Neale could bounce back next year with 120 avg.
Willie .
Chol could explode next season if he moves clubs DPP aswell.
Reckon Berry is the biggest lock IF he is priced at 45. Should be safe for 90+ after a good PS.

From memory the number is 34% they gave that as the reason no one can have 3 dpps.
