early thoughts on the ruck is, Darcy, Preuss and on the bench comben or if gold coast get a cheap ruck for the start of the year. Also hoping Marshall keeps his FWD status and I'll have him in the forward line
Are you expecting Preuss to play every week ahead of Flynn and Briggs? Think he’ll be in and out myself.

I'm interested in the reasoning behind starting Marshall in the ruck line? Surely whichever of the big 3 you don't start will average higher than the forward premo picked instead? I get it if there are lots of must have fwd rookies, but that seems unlikely.

Is it to save money and hope one of the others drops a bit in price?

Second point. Ruck line is unpredictable as shit next year. Starting Marshall there gives you a free hit.

Interesting.

So for example you start Gawn and Marshall as rucks. Grundy goes at 85 for the first month and drops $100k. Are you trading him in then?

This years averages
Gawn 121
Darcy 118
Grundy 115 (with injury)

IMO all those three average more than any forward premo next year.

For me it's midfield priority. I don't think any ruck goes 130 again, so I feel as though taking a cheap ruck and then loading up in the middle is the way to go.

Also Gawn, Grundy or Darcy? Not sure which 2/3 to take, if I wait, I can see which two I need down the track. Also have injury concerns and low score risk these days, so the price could be right down the track.

BigO, Marshall and English (not convinced he gets DPP) are all under consideration for me, then 4 or 5 ultra premo 120+ mids, plus Neale to round them off

Being a Soft C*ck isn't an injury it's a choice :moustache:

another point here.
Gawn post bye 112avg
Darcy post bye not including inj affected last round 137.5avg wow
Grundy post Buckley 107avg

So many variables, there appears to be a significant correlation between Jackson's ruck time and Gawn's scoring, thats a fact.
Grundy will be priced a bit cheaper but who knows what will happen with the new coach and his form was shit nearly all year anyway.
Darcy has a massive chol but it's fragile.

I think Darcy and Marshall R1 and R2 might be the play with Jackson or another R/F up forward.

I think I will be starting either NicNat R1 and McInerney R2 and Marshall forward

Jackson had an average of 71 and 7 scores less than 50, dont see him jumping to 90+ which is what you need if you pick him.

Yes a talent for sure but probably needs more ruck time to get to 90+ and if the dees are in contention surely you would play Max 70/30 like they did this year as Max is still elite.

Cox and NicNat the only ruck duo to both put out premo numbers in the same season yeah?

Back then they were premo numbers. I didn't realize they played together for a few years. Especially 2012 they would've been best Rucks in the comp.

I'm not sure he will go 90+ though, and at his price he needs to be a keeper. If Gawn goes down he'll be in every team though.
i think we'll see a 50/50 split. i want to see how much muscle he puts on though before a commit, thats not just for sc either

Not sure they go 50/50. Gawn is the best ruck in the comp, needs to play there mainly.

Gawn is nothing special in the ruck, he does his best work behind the ball and has improved his impact as a forward this year. Playing Jackson in the ruck more allows Gawn to play spare behind and roam wherever he wants. Jackson is a ****ing beast too
