You want it easy ?..... Andrew Birch was demanding the game be made tougher

You know it won't impact you Mr Consistency ;)

How many actually pick their starting team taking into account the Byes anyway?
From the sounds of it the AFL would probably release the next group by Round 6 and that would give 5 or so weeks to get our team sorted for the bye rounds.

I would think most Coach's wouldn't over commit numbers of players per team .....choose too many MELB players this year and the Byes may bite you

But agree, a lot probably don't worry about the Byes with their opening team

We may find out when the byes are. Which rounds.
If its the same as last year the Melbourne vs Pies clash will be the same week. Queens Birthday I think.

The byes are the most important rounds of the year if you are gunning for overall.
Dees and Collingwood always share the same bye due to the QB match.
If we don’t know beforehand you can almost bank on them putting all the other most SC relevant teams on the same week as that lol.
Seasons would be tanked immediately and the melts would be immense if they sprung a Dees, Pies, Dogs, Bombers & Lions bye round on us without any warning.

Yep they play the Monday in the middle week of the byes.
The Afl gives them the following week off rather than make them do a short turn around.
Gawn + Darcy it is i think.

* the byes! (especially when they * my team over by shifting games)

Isn't the draw done for the whole season? It's just when over each weekend the games are played that is decided later?

So we'll know which round each teams byes are, just not who is playing early/late games through the season if you're trying to pick a donut.

We know the first 8 rounds.
After that its guess work.

used to, changed it for covid in 2020 and it's stuck. it is good though, just not for sc unfortunately. means we see less dead rubbers late in the season.

Don't start with any more than 3 non-rookies from any given team and you'll be fine.

No guarantee.

I agree with Seymour Skinner, diversify beyond the popular teams because they love putting the byes for Dees, Bombers and Pies on the same week and wouldn't put it past them to chuck the Dogs and Lions in the same round

If you tried to have twelve different teams represented in your starting keepers you'd be well protected.

Just a thought
As long as you don't sacrifice too many points.

It's risky in itself, preparing for byes, because of injuries and stuff, I think just let it run and see what happens. Only use byes if it's a genuine 50/50

Nat Fyfe has undergone surgery today, after consultation with his specialist further surgery was required on his troublesome shoulder.

A small fracture in his shoulder was located from scans, the procedure was completed on Tuesday.

Fyfe will miss the start of pre-season, he initially underwent surgery on the same shoulder after failing to complete the 2021 season.

“Nat’s recovery from his initial shoulder reconstruction surgery had plateaued and, as a result of that, we sent him in for a scan which indicated that there was a small crack in the bone block that forms the basis of these types of surgery.”

After spending 500k and 3 of my last 4 trades on this bloke for an average of 67 I don’t think I can do it.
You were a big gee for Butters at the end of last season IIRC ......but those ankle type ( I refuse to use the new jargon for it) are really hard to come back from to 100% fitness ...in the timeframe in which he returned

Read somewhere that the injury impacts your speed of the mark, due to the reduced flexibility

Thoughts on De Goey ? .......had him in AFL Fantasy and he returned the gesture in spades .....Contract year & full time training in the States

DeGoey is a freebie if still FWD.
Loved cheap pill as a mid, should be able to manage 100ppg.
Just have to hope he doesn’t get injured like he normally does.
Contract year helps.
Training overseas is a bit of a wank.

But also signifies his intent to play midfield fulltime
