Taranto is a no brainer IMO. Contract year and likely to get some massive offers in Victoria - usually leads to a bit of a lift. See Cerra this year.

Bit of an annoying price, but on balance of probabilities I'd say he's going to improve and have a career season. What puts me off is he's never averaged over 102, and realistically you want him to at least be hitting 105+

JDG should score well if he's played permanently as a mid. Still not even super fit and dominated when he got chucked in their mid-way through last season.

But yeh I'm inclined to load up on fwd rooks and invest big in defence. Set and forget on Darcy and Grundy as the rucks.
Cerra the useless kent averaged exactly the same as the year before, no lift at all.

My worry with Taranto (other than being a butcher) is he seems like the sort of player GWS wouldn't mind losing, as much as they protest. So he slides down the pecking order as the year goes on and maybe out of the team if they know he's leaving and would rather play others like Callaghan for example. But I'm stuck with him stinking up my SC team.

The forward line is the place to take risks though, as there aren't many safe choices.

My issue is, Tarranto had a purple patch of Fantasy form there for about 6 games last year, when switched from FWD line back into the midfield .....but as soon as Greene goes, Tarranto is flicked back to the FWD lines

Will be waiting for Toby's return before picking up Taranto, not a value pick, but will be a decent option.

Exactly this. There's a very good chance we play Taranto as a forward for the first 5 rounds until Greene returns. At the very least I'd put him as a "wait and see" option.

Over the next few months we'll get to see if he's training with the forwards at all, we'll get articles asking our coaches "Who replaces Toby during his suspension?" so we'll know more closer to the start of the season.

But I wouldn't be locking him in yet.

Cerra definitely improved as a player.

Didn’t realise his scoring was a carbon copy of the season before - thought he must have lifted at least 5 points.

I actually think Taranto will end up staying, but he will use some good form to extract every cent out of GWS. They don’t mind putting together a big contract if they feel it’s warranted - Cameron, Whitfield, Kelly, Coniglio. Their squad is now pretty young, and they’ll have enough space to keep Taranto IMO.

Doggies mids bat deep .

Cerra did have a inj score in there like a 20 or something .

I’m just going to drop Jacob Hopper into the conversation. I’m interested. Does a lot of things that score well.

Seems stuck averaging mid 90s.

Genuine star and clutch player, but yeh his game hasn’t translated to decent SuperCoach scores.

Could see him elevating his game at some point but not really worth the investment.

I've started Timmy T for 2/3 past seasons, and really can't see any reason to start him in 2022, despite being a forward.

CD hate the kent for one.

He's also a bit of a ball butcher as well.

Dangerflog can butcher it all he wants but because he's CD lovechild he can still ton from 4 good disposals.

Taranto does the exact same thing but gets reamed and his good touches really don't make up for his bad ones. Even when he gets 30+ disposals he'll score 80.

It's just not worth it.

This shat me no end last year. Never again.

No doubt there are some concerns and would be some risk involved. Scored over 110 in a 3rd of his games. Needs ro tidy up DE and increase his average minutes (102 last year, 42nd overall for SuperCoach mids)

Couple of injury affected games dropped his average. 5 games under 80. Should be able to raise his floor.

On my watch list is all.
