Uni Blacks have broken into the lead but its only a six point ball game at the moment.

To win a flag, we will need to beat all 3 of these teams, regardless. However, to earn promotion, we only have to beat two of them. Which is the one team you'd choose to avoid meeting in the first two finals, in order to maximise our hopes of climbing to A Grade?

With a 20 point lead, looks like Uni Blacks have booked their Grand Final and their date with A Grade.

Beaumaris will await the result of our match. Let's knock over Haileyburians tomorrow, and make an appointment with the team we just beat last week, to earn promotion.

Underway at Coburg City Oval!

After an interesting glitch first up :

Old Haileybury and Fitzroy are now at one behind apiece.
0.1.1 v 0.1.1

Edit: Another adjustment results in the Haileybury point being removed.
Old Haileybury 0.0.0 trail Fitzroy 0.1.1.

Please kick straight. Just sayin'.

Old Haileybury 0.2.2 trail Fitzroy 1.1.7.

Old Haileybury 0.2.2 trail Fitzroy 1.2.8.

Old Haileybury 0.3.3 trail Fitzroy 1.2.8.

And I was worried about OUR kicking at goal ... eek.

The behind keeps coming :
Old Haileybury 0.4.4 trail Fitzroy 1.3.9.

Old Haileybury 0.4.4 trail Fitzroy 1.4.10.

Fitzroy goal!
Old Haileybury 1.6.12 trail Fitzroy 2.4.16.

A score adjustment which I don't trust sees OH lose 3 points ...
Old Haileybury 1.3.9 trail Fitzroy 2.4.16.

Yeah that was an anomaly. And Haileybury also have another goal now, too.
Old Haileybury 2.7.19 lead Fitzroy 2.4.16.

And that goal has hastily been retracted as well.
Old Haileybury 1.7.13 trail Fitzroy 2.4.16.

(we are in the information age btw, although sometimes it's hard to tell)

Thanks VAFA website for making the experience pretty much impossible to follow.
It's possible Haileybury did get that goal, and now have another.
Old Haileybury 3.7.25 lead Fitzroy 2.4.16.

Now showing a fourth.
Old Haileybury 4.7.31 lead Fitzroy 2.4.16.

And a fifth:
Old Haileybury 5.7.37 lead Fitzroy 2.4.16.

That's 4 goals on the trot to OH.

Fitzroy score their first since the very start of the 2nd quarter:
Old Haileybury 5.7.37 lead Fitzroy 3.4.22.

Haileybury answer immediately:
Old Haileybury 6.7.43 lead Fitzroy 3.4.22.

Old Haileybury 6.8.44 lead Fitzroy 3.4.22.

OH's scoreline has been "altered" to 7.6 and I have no idea what to do with it anymore.

Old Haileybury 7.8.50 lead Fitzroy 3.5.23.

Old Haileybury 7.8.50 lead Fitzroy 3.6.24.

Roys get another goal back:
Old Haileybury 7.8.50 lead Fitzroy 4.6.30.

And another. Some free scoring today.
Old Haileybury 7.8.50 lead Fitzroy 5.6.36.
Sure to be half time by now, or pretty close to it.

Into the 3rd quarter and VAFA website reports Fitzroy making some inroads, although as it records a removal of a behind, I fear it's just more errata.

Old Haileybury 7.8.50 lead Fitzroy 7.5.42.

By the time I wrote this, its changed:
Old Haileybury 7.8.50 lead Fitzroy 7.2.44.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they mean 6.8.44 or 6.6.42.

More "adjustments":
Old Haileybury 7.8.50 trail Fitzroy 7.11.53.
(who knows?)

Well, there haven't been any changes for a while, which suggests that maybe its a real score.

Which also suggests that this actually happened:
Old Haileybury 7.8.50 trail Fitzroy 8.11.59.

Old Haileybury 7.8.50 trail Fitzroy 8.12.60.

Really gotta work on that kicking for goal if we don't want it to come back and bite us on the butt.

Ok this really does look a lot like we are now in the midst of a Fitzroy counter-offensive.
Old Haileybury 7.8.50 trail Fitzroy 9.12.66.

According to the VAFA scores website (for whatever that's worth), the RedRoys have added 30 points (4.6) to no score at all from OH, since half time ...

No changes recorded recently but I feel its a bit early for it to be 3/4 times quite yet.
Edit: It is indeed 3/4 time according to Fitzroy Instagram where it is said Julian Turner kicked a goal after the siren.

Old Haileybury score a behind as the fourth quarter is shown to be underway.
Old Haileybury 7.9.51 trail Fitzroy 9.12.66.

Another OH behind:
Old Haileybury 7.10.52 trail Fitzroy 9.12.66.

And a third behind, ominous stuff!
Old Haileybury 7.11.53 trail Fitzroy 9.12.66.

Old Haileybury 7.12.54 trail Fitzroy 9.12.66.

Per Fitzroy's Instagram page, that was indeed the final score for the game, the Roys going down by one straight kick.

Old Haileybury 11.13.79 def Fitzroy 10.13.73.

Must have been heartbreaking! But a very good season and a sign of more elevation to come in future.
