I couldn’t disagree more.
They need to realise that if they want to achieve anything as footballers they had to be able to prepare their bodies and minds 22 games and finals.
Most of these blokes have been wrapped up in cotton wool their entire careers and it shows when things get a little bit Pugh they go to water.
They need to feel the pain of possibly being in the 8 all season only to miss finals to maybe realise this a competition for grown men.
7 years since we started this rebuild so the time has come for us to stop talking ourselves up only to make excuses when things don’t go our way.

It doesn’t matter if half the list feels the pain of missing finals, since they’re not good enough to play in finals anyway.

We need better coaches, players, game strategy and injury management.

We’re teetering at the edge of the 8 in a very, very weak year of competition. The reality is we have a long way to go.

Wasted year.

Disagree. This was always going to be a building year with Voss coming after trade week and the draft.

He's had a good look at virtually everyone.

Next year should see us build. Need to consolidate and get the list healthy.

Not enough solid bodies - carry to many guys for to long during a game doing nothing - sadly looks like footscray will beat us unless hawthorn roll over ..
TDK can learn a lot from today -- jumping high and not being able to gain balance and control at ground level leaves you open for a good old fashioned belting in the ruck - his follow up not strong enough maybe he just needs time and bulk..
On current form since the bye we probably don't deserve finals ..
Need to be tough at end of year and clear some players that a borderline at best ..
On to next week

Anyone who still thinks Dow has a future after today needs therapy.
Not his fault when they won’t use his best asset. Attend *all centre bounces & still had 3 centre clearances, can’t slam players when they are played woefully out of position.
That said he did himself no favors at times- was not on his own with that thou

It has to be mental, right??

When we play a run and gun game, we don't have time to think and magic happens. Why we go into our shells for 80% of games and lose simply through fear, I have no idea. That has to be mental or else our coach's instructions are the worst in the AFL.

What makes you think this a weak year of competition? Sure the bottom is 2 are rubbish but IMO there isn’t that much difference in the rest of the competition.

Be nice if it wasn't a one game make or break and if he played in a better midfeld.

He should get a game next week with the players out.

Doesn't help himself though, I'll give you that.

We are still in the Eight, one more win is all it will take and that is not out of the question against either Melbourne or Collingscum.....

So all this bluster about surgery, season's over, sook, sook, blah, blah, you can stick it where the sun don't shine. With or with out Cripps we will be competitive IF WE TAKE THAT LEVEL OF RISK AND INVENTIVNESS TO THE LAST TWO GAMES

But there are big gaps in this team, so we are not going deep into September, but we may be a part of the conversation...

There was a passage in the last where he could have easily run down lyons but jogged towards him which he got a kick off anyway. If he actually shows urgency he wouldn’t be to bad, just lazy with the defensive running

The bottom 6 are the cherry on top, it's the top half of the side and most of them were woeful today.

Disagree. Owies can not finish. Setterfield turnover merchant. Young no agression/hesitant/pushed around. Obrien, Cottrel, Fisher did not spread for 3 Qtrs. Opposition hunted Walsh. Made Saad accountable with Cameron. Charlie and Harry limited opportunities from terrible entries. Walsh, Weiters, Cripps could not have done more.
