Just got home, turned on the TV and who is special comments?

FRIGGIN DERMOTT BRERETON.

FFS FoxFooty, give us someone different!

Shouldn't be that hard to get a another commentator since you're still calling interstate matches from your Melbourne studio.

Still some issues, but effort is good.
Close enough to keep it interesting.
I reckon we are pretty lucky to still be in it. Some of our defence is terrible. And with Taranto, Hopper and Green in the same midfield, we are definitely overusing it. Cogs is sacrificing his game playing forward…. Team structure is a mess imo.

Agree structure is a mess.
I'm coming around to your theory about Taranto and Hopper clogging up the list.

i wish we could draft a player like Keidean Coleman, he is a pleasure to watch.

If Wehr is going to make it he has to get stronger. He and Peatling have some good attributes but are built like matchsticks.

Every time Riccardi gets the chance in the seniors, he doesn't take the opportunity.

XOH, Bruhn as well...

If one of Clarkson's criteria for returning is to coach a team in their premiership window, GWS is currently making his mind up for him.

Many players just haven't improved despite being given the chance and many on the good $$$ aren't performing.

Statistically it's an absolute flogging. Winning hit outs but getting dominated in clearances and I50 stats are embarrassing. Gone back to playing chip around and over handball in defence until we turn it over and give away an easy goal. Seems a bit tank-like TBH from what we were seeing a few weeks ago.

I missed the match and looking at fanfooty it looks like our midfield got flogged. Who were our main onballers? Did Hopper and Green get forced out to a HFF?

Sam Taylor was outstanding, Toby is all class. Himmelberg, Cumming, Coniglio tried.

The rest not worth a postage stamp today.

After the sugar hit the bad habits of not running both ways combined with no prospect of finals and knowing the bloke at the helm is a fill in take hold and you get today’s result.

We need to sort out the coaching position to:

A.) Give the players visibility as to where the club is heading.

B.) Give the List Manager every opportunity of retaining required player and potentially attracting others to the club.

C.) Give Members and Supporters some blue sky and hope particularly as we see this season unravel badly.

This club does a lot of things very well, the virtue signaling is a bit sickening but hey we are owned by the AFL, the greatest virtue signalers in the world so that’s bound to happen, but we are still doing some things really poorly.

The smoke in mirrors reporting on injuries is extremely disrespectful to all of us supporters. We currently don’t know the status of our coveted top draft pick from last year Finn Callaghan. All we know is that he has a recurrence of the sesamoiditis which stopped him playing last year. The kid has barely played in his last two years and the club says nothing to its supporters, how severe is it, what is he doing differently this year to last? Where is he being sent to resolve this?

It’s that kind of lack of understanding which makes gives the club credence for not being a bonafide footy team.

Anyways, just frustrated. It’s a great club but definitely at the crossroads.

Off to have a few ales….

Another year like this year and our club could be in a fair bit of trouble. Make no mistake, the media will target us. We’ve gotten off so lightly with the rubbish performances we’ve put in this year.

Totally agree.

Gold Coast are on the improve and their coach is now locked-in.

North Melbourne - it's only 1 win, but all a sudden they're the feel-good story in the competition.

if there's an ongoing improvement for the Roos in the remainder of the season, the focus is going to be well and truly on the Giants, especially those responsible for the many long-term multi million dollar contracts which are putting enormous pressure on the salary cap with nothing to show for.

We've avoided criticism because we've already changed the coach and we're pretty clearly above the level of the NMs, Eagles, Crows, etc.

However we're also pretty clearly below the level of anyone else, which is quite disturbing if anyone was paying attention to us.

Factor in our dismal crowds… being a new club… AFL pour in money… etc etc. The media will drive a strong narrative.
