Is it really because of the thumb or was because of how well the forward line looked on Sunday and they want to take another good look at things. By all reports Jack was cleared by the surgeon to return and trained without a guard on during the week

I love the fact that they have omitted JR#8. It may be that he wasn't available due to the injury, but I think the message is deeper than that: he's no longer an automatic selection. I'm sure he'll respond well and be back in the next few weeks, but a win this week without Jack and Dusty will be great for the next generation.

Tough on Jack but feels like the right call - I think 3 tall forwards + 2 rucks is overkill, so as long as Soldo + Nank are both in (and I think they need to be with 3 rucks in for the Saints) and Balta earned his spot, then there just isn't a position available.
