Probably. Can continue his coaching duties from the bench, provide his playing leadership to players as they come from the ground and then play if required. I quite like the idea. But I reckon I could be convinced otherwise. I quite liked seeing Davis again and still think there's an AFL player there despite the raw games played v time on list ratio that is often used to value the quality of a player.

I have watched plenty of Dow at AFL level to know he won't make it.

He is vanilla.

I know you want McAsey out (which I'm not fussed by), but swapping him for an average player is not good list management.

Dow lacks the tank to play MID .....looks a million $$$ in the first half, unfortunately falls away badly, after all these PS's too

Dawson is the next captain, Doedee is injured too often and form yoyo's too much also when we've had the chance this season the captain has mainly been Smith or O'Brien

His issue this year was clearly playing injured when he shouldn't have. Fair argument that putting yourself ahead of the team rules him out, but I wouldn't think 2022 output will be a meaningful factor in the decision. Reality is that Sloane has made it this far when in rehab, no chance he hands it back upon returning to full training in 2023. And it won't be taken from him as Walsh was forced to do with VB in 2015. Nix is no Walsh, there is no authenticity and 'man conversations' would be avoided at all costs.

That's not 'treatment', you're on record as saying that if you perform in the 2s you get your shot. Unless you're now saying that getting your 'shot' as a mid includes playing a defensive forward role.

That's not 'treatment', you're on record as saying that if you perform in the 2s you get your shot. Unless you're now saying that getting your 'shot' as a mid includes playing a defensive forward role.

If Nick's doesn't take the captaincy off him it proves he shouldn't be coaching us. I have faith they will take it off him solely for the fact he he will be 33 in march and there's no guarantee he won't get injured and miss multiple games at his age. Dawson needs to be made captain in the offseason.

5 years though ? .....enough time to build his tank ....in a handful of games last year, he looked the equal of Cerra ....but his fall-off in the 2nd halves was dramatic

Dow will get a new home ....a few clubs will think like you

Off course Dow's stats will look impressive in VFL match's .....they are slower games, and have players with equally poor tanks

i just want you to realise that when discussing selection or player talent you have a tendency to be hypocritical. You'll laugh at stats as meaningless but then use them if you need them. You'll slam opinions from Rendell or Buckenara if they're contrary to yours but then you're happy to post them if they support your view. It annoys me, but that's probably my issue, not yours. I've been told that I can be annoying. On exceedingly rare occasions I would imagine though.

of course that's not true but if it was, apart from a few players progressing or looking the goods, what else has been going good the last 5 years? Thebby looks awesome, but highlight something else that's not individual player related.

If I can find out the Pies are into Frampton like 5 weeks ago and it takes until now for that to even come up as a possibility you know a lot are working with second hands news.

I think that explains the link between Blues scout and Fish despite 15 listed players featuring in the game. C4 ruled it out a week ago and he's as reliable as our volbeat.
