Yeah, why wouldn't you leave him at the mercy of delivery rather than have him be an influence all around the ground?

Notoriously the game is scored by who wins the most hit outs, and not kicking goals.

Is Tex at the mercy of supply? Was Riedwolt? Franklin? Cameron? Hell even Tredrae?

Adelaide has a generational CHF in its hands in Thilthorpe, however outsmarting itself is typical Adelaide. Thilthorpe in the ruck is just showing that we learned absolutely nothing from Fog.

While they might have won the flag last year, they are an extreme outlier when it comes to having a gun ruck in a premiership side. This year their forward stocks are worse and could really use someone like Lynch over having the best ruck in the competition (which is a low value position)

However the premier almost always has one of the top bunch of key forwards in the league

I would be extremely disappointed if Thilthorpe became our lead ruck instead of developing him into a gun key forward

You could not imagine a less worthwhile rebuild this length in than to have not drafted any high end midfielders or forwards but to have drafted a ruck with pick 2.

Watching the SANFL replay, at the end of the game there was someone down with the Crows in street clothes with his right arm in a sling, looked like Ben Keays, anyone heard anything about him having surgery?
It's reported by Burgess in the injury update on the club website, shoulder ACL joint had been giving him some grief for a few weeks. Murphy has also had surgery on a foot issue he'd been playing through.

Or better.

Riley's skills for a big man are phenomenally good and plays like an onballer.

Can then rest forward and monster defenders.

Think Gawn, think Dean Cox.

TT could end up in that company as a ruck, IMO.

With Fog continuing in with his form. Just need another KPF to develop, together with Rachele and Rankine and we are looking good.
Still not sure how to feel about it. I hated the thought at first but it's probably not the worst thing. Especially if Gollant comes good as a forward.

The sight of TT clunking them in the last few games would be pretty handy for those lame kick ins that go long and right to the ruck and never get marked. If TT can grab a few of those a game and start an attacking string we start looking a bit better. But yeah, is that more valuable than him becoming a Kurt Tippett type up forward? Like someone else said, it just makes you feel like "We spent pick 2 on a ruck?"

Why are we doing surgery so early?

That's a very un-Adelaide thing to do

Can you please stop with this glass-half-full type positivity?

This board is reserved for worst case scenarios, general doom and gloom and frequent mentions of Steven Trigg.

Haha.

I just don't think it is all doom and gloom.

I was disappointed with this year as a whole as I was expecting to see more improvement.

However, I think the nucleus is there for us to return to finals. With the addition of Rankine, and if he can transition into the midfield, then our team takes on a whole new look. The core midfield is there, just need an elite talent to make others look better.

Next year will also be frustrating at times as the kids get experience, but it is an exciting time to be a Crows fan. The talent we have coming through looks to be pretty special, even if we f*cked up the Jones and McHenry picks.

Baffling why they both weren't sent for surgery earlier

Baffling?..

Not really.

Par for the course for this club.

Perfect opportunity to send these two in for surgery and play a couple of the younger lads..

Thats kryptonite to the dullards selecting the 22 at the crows.

God I would love to know the list of what constitutes a red flag for us...
Height > 182cm
Not from a good family
From vic metro
Good skills
Able to contested mark
Not able to train as well as Mackay
Both known waffle stompers*

*allegedly
I have no idea what this means. They like hiking?

I don't get the JHF bit here.
Why were we willing to put all our eggs into that basket last year, and less than 12 months later wouldn't try again?
Unless we didn't do our due diligence first time round.
We seem to do that a bit. Someone on here was saying that someone from the club has said they hadn't taken much notice of Keeler until May this year, yet he was in our academy. How do you not take notice of someone you are (hopefully) developing?

I rate Volbeat's intel, he's come up with the goods a lot of times, but sometimes I wonder if the club puts out disinformation deliberately sometimes to see who's leaking what.
