Not much to tell. Just that the Pies are interested in him was what I heard. I would not expect he'd cost much of anything for them to bring in, Pies have 3 3rd round picks currently, might prefer to use one of those (with maybe us sending a future 4th back) on some depth, rather than another youngster is my guess. Certainly fits the mould of the type of tall, intercept defender that MaCrae seems to like to use and would provide cheap and ready replacement if a Moore, Howe, Maynard or Murphy type got hurt.

Seems like a win all-round. Pies get solid depth, we get points for Michalanney for a player we probably would’ve delisted

Yes, however Mitchell has tried to change his gamestyle ....and only been dropped once

Has Crouch tried to change .....or at the current pace of the game, no right foot, or right handball ......is just getting caught too often, resulting in panic disposals .....in his head, he probably thinks the 15 mtr sideways kick is better than getting caught HTB or a dump kick

In other words, it's his way of coping with his physical limitations
Correct and he is a "slow" player - as in if anyone pictures M Crouch in their head I would wager it's him stopping or propping - rarely would that image be him sprinting - in fact when was the last time he was at full speed?

Sadly the game goes past every player - even the great B Graders struck down in a final with a snapped achilles after kicking 2goal 1 [oops I digress that was me} and the time has come for Matt to find something else although his loss of pay will hurt more than my 6 cans after the game.

Frampton for Poulter? 😲
LOL they'd just wait for him to be delisted and get him as a DFA...sounds like fantasy that Collingwood be looking at him as well.

I’d keep frampton on the list to be honest..

He dominates at SANFL level.. and can be used as “break glass” as a KPD.. a position we have absolutely no depth in at all..

Who currently comes in as a tall KPD if Butts and Murray go down??..

Borlase?.. he’s a likely delist.

There is literally no one else.

Atleast with Frampton dominating down back in the SANFL we are competitive at that level which helps with our player development..

To be fair the form of Doedee, Butts and Murray has been questionable at best.
If he was any good they would have played him.

That's if he wants to stay as a bench warmer. Can't imagine many players would take that if another team gives them opportunities to play AFL.

What AFL club is going to guarantee Frampton better...he's 26 in a couple of months and he's been a "benchwarmer" at both Port and Adelaide for almost his entire AFL career. I'd think he'd jump at another 12 month AFL contract be it with us or elsewhere.

I'm not against the club giving both he and Himmelberg another contract on a year to year basis especially Himmelberg but there are other uncontracted players we need to move on before those two.

I don’t mind Himm or Frampton being on the list in a break glass scenario, but our coaches have shown they can’t resist selecting these guys ahead of players like Worrell who we should be elevating to get a game.

For atleast the 10th time this season, I sit here and wait for selection to see if we go back to the same proven dry wells or finally give Worrell his shot.

I’d also happily try Borlase before reverting to Billy again. And I’d happily try Gollant or go smaller with Newchurch than try Himm again.

They need to be a last resor.

It's why I think Frampton and Newchurch will be delisted, not given games when they should have been, it's a red flag.

Pies won't give us anything for Frampton, they'll pick him up as a DFA

There's no way Newchurch is being delisted. Not unless we're delisting 10 players with our youngest list ever because he's about 10th from most delist-worthy atm.

Absolutely but nicks went further then he had to. He didn’t have to say that Matt was an important part of the future. I remember that Walsh had a standard line on questions around players future in that he doesn’t talk publicly on players futures . That’s for list management.

No one is saying he should openly criticise but he also shouldn’t lie just to please everyone. I think it’s a real worry that he does this. It shows his lack of experience.

I don’t think it’s lack of experience, it’s lack of inherent attributes required to succeed in the role. He’s a combo Sando/Bolton.

As an aside here... Matt attended the banner making night last night (with three other junior players) and helped cut out letters. That actually surprised me (if this "he's chucking a hissy fit" thing is true). This doesn't sound like someone who is blindsided or angry.

So a backboner and 3 unknowable crushers. How very Neil Craig of you.

I think his #1 liability is a lack of a 2nd position. What AFL standard midfielder these days can only play 1 position? I mean its crazy when you think about it.

The moment Laird went by him on the depth chart it was always going to turn out poorly for him.

That’s not actually a terminal problem at a club that runs a 4 man midfield rotation.

I believe he can stay on the Cat B list one more year, so unless they think he's a total no-hoper (which they very well might) they don't need to move him to free up any list spots.

This and the baffling Greenwood comments…

Give Vader his TV back
Have you actually WATCHED St Kilda the last eight or nine weeks?

That's a genuine question.

I didn't say Brad Crouch was shithouse. Just that he's been middling.
