The lack of others and Logue showing he is capable of playing at both ends doing his value no harm whatsoever. he will have plenty of suitors and with Freo rumoured to be throwing mega $ at Jackson they will be moving some players on including Lobbe to make space
Yeah but the others?

But he hasn't been playing a Doedee type role in the SANFL....He's been playing Key Back against SANFL level Key Forwards, big, big difference against the monster Key Forwards in the AFL.

But this proves his versatility even more. He’s doing a decent job as KPD in the SANFL whilst also racking up some serious possessions, intercepts, rebound 50’s and M gained. You can’t deride him for one aspect by completely ignoring the fact that the complete package of his performances in the SANFL would warrant selection in plenty of other AFL teams.

Whether people like it or not, SANFL performances should form at least the foundational basis to warrant selection in the seniors.

Frampton has wins as a KPD against Port, Bulldogs and Richmond, narrow loss to Essendon who had 11 diff goalscorers, before shockers against GWS and Carlton (club record 74 inside 50’s) with Frampton getting more marks in these games than Tom Doedee who was supposed to be the ‘spare interceptor’, and who we now know has been battling niggles the whole season.

I know Frampton is not a popular character on here, but I reckon someone is going to pick him up as a DFA and he will be a more than handy intercept defender who can chop out in the ruck, and could be more than that if he continues to develop his KPD craft, which is improving.

the way everyone has carried on about how poorly it was handled by the club and nicks must feel real embarrassed. No doubt you won't admit you're wrong and you'll just say it still should've been handled differently

Did nicks and the club handle Doedee correctly?
Nil all play on

I was one who pushed very hard for Frampton to be played as a DEF .....he seemed more relaxed seeing the play in front of him, and marks he would fumble as a FWD ....he one grabbed as a DEF, obviously expecting the pressure more as a FWD

Got a great kick for a 200cm player .....and I thought there was a chance as a future defender

BUT

The guy in 2 games showed a complete lack of any competitive spirit .....gives up on 2nd efforts & badly let his defensive teammates down by an unwillingness to work hard ......the easy stuff, the stuff that gets noticed by supporters was good .....but you simply cannot go into a Finals campaign with this type of player

Disaster if Frampton leaves. McAsey is no good and/or will leave... and the cupboard is pretty bare after that.

So we'll burn pick 3 on the best key defender in the draft again. Great.
Define Disaster ?

You think delisting Stengle after three seperate incidents was a bad decision?

I don't think we had much choice, and hopefully that was the final wakeup call for him.

Henderson was pretty much marched out of the building by supporters, so it's hard to agree with that.

Every side in the AFL has delisted players that might catch on somewhere else. It's not like either of these are Peter Bell.
Clearly, yes.

Incorrect to a degree. I didn’t exactly say it but alluded to it 1659062698648.png

it was disappointing how quickly we gave up and just went straight back to the status quo which hasnt worked either.

This is true. The mushroom tea is jjust kicking in so I’ll go on a tangent.
Club ethos is prioritise others. Given in two scenarios.

Club ethos: Tyson, your actions outside the four walls have been not want we want re prioritising others so we are going to keep the contract you just signed but internally ban you from playing AFL for a year and make you sit it out in the Sanfl. This a good scenario for you and us. Tyson says nah I’m good. Settle my contract and I will play in a premier SANFL side boosting my chances for rehire.

Club ethos: Tyson, we know you have been struggling of late outside the four walls but we can’t sort a life balance for you. We can’t prioritise your development or we were going to but we were too late to the party.

Club ethos can be played out to suit a narrative so is flawed.

All while good clubs like Geelong benefit from our inability to nurture players with issues outside football.
Makes us look like we can't help players become the best version of themselves, why would you come here?

*Dollars would be the only reason right now.

Stengle wasn't delivering on the field so I had no issues at the time.

Certainly performing far better at the Cats. Might have pulled the finger out or just another victim of our forward line.

With noise around Hopper, JHF and Rankine is there any way to get all three?
Would have to give up this year's first and next year's at very least.

Split 2022 pick for two picks in the 10-15 range and send to GWS and GC for Hopper and Rankine?
2023 first and Doedee for JHF?

Stengle was given massive support by the club and multiple chances.

Some players need to lose it all before they finally grow up. Good on him - many don't grow up even after their dream is taken from them

This is clearly incorrect. His form shows he shouldn't have been playing.

No, his form showed he was having a middling season. Good some weeks, less good others, and was still number 3 in the entire AFL for intercept marks.
