We sit 16th with a handful of games left to play in the season - we have a number of players who have played poorly in the last four games of which we lost -we just gave a team their highest ever score in a first qtr - an yet we keep the same side.


Are we now rewarding players for showing "moments" but overall sub par performances?

Giving a player like Taylor {nankervis,Newchurch, Gollant] benefits all in that he gets an afl experience and those players omitted get the message that they aren't performing.

We are gifting games to the underperformers in the AFL:
McHenry
Jones
Smith
OBrien
Milera


Why has Strachan not been given games while Obrien has slumped?
Taylor dominated in the SANFL why can't he have a crack in McHenrys spot?
Scholl has been regularly going well an yet Milera/Jones both failed on the wing

Facts are they haven't.
Murphy has averaged half a goal a game as a small forward.
That's horrible.

Him not getting replaced with a player who is performing smacks of a lack of selection integrity.

I was one who pushed very hard for Frampton to be played as a DEF .....he seemed more relaxed seeing the play in front of him, and marks he would fumble as a FWD ....he one grabbed as a DEF, obviously expecting the pressure more as a FWD

Got a great kick for a 200cm player .....and I thought there was a chance as a future defender

BUT

The guy in 2 games showed a complete lack of any competitive spirit .....gives up on 2nd efforts & badly let his defensive teammates down by an unwillingness to work hard ......the easy stuff, the stuff that gets noticed by supporters was good .....but you simply cannot go into a Finals campaign with this type of player

BUT by that rationale you’re completely disregarding the other 4 games he played in, 3 of them wins, where he played as a KPD and performed admirably, keeping in mind he is SIX games into his career as a defender. Discounting his time as a FWD, most people would thinks that’s nuts to write him off after that long, particularly in light of just how good he was in the wins for the seniors, and his SANFL performances.

Finals campaign? Buddy, we are the youngest/ most inexperienced team in the comp, it’s all about development at the moment. You can’t seriously be rating developing players at the moment based on their ability to CURRENTLY take us to finals footy.

As an aside here... Matt attended the banner making night last night (with three other junior players) and helped cut out letters. That actually surprised me (if this "he's chucking a hissy fit" thing is true). This doesn't sound like someone who is blindsided or angry.

Apart from Media Clickbait Mayo there really is little evidence Crouch has had a poor attitude.


Still think we are better off without him, the game has moved on from his style of play.

I'm not sure I buy what Nicks is selling here. If there is no smoke surrounding Crouch, there is no reason to be standoffish about answering questions about him. This "I'm offended and won't be taking more questions about this" routine is making me lean toward the rumours being true.

The game changed with 6 x 6 x 6 ......there are now less ball-ups, less congestion, quicker ball movement ....defending DEF transition and causing turnovers is sought

Crouch neither hurts opposition clubs offensively .....and is an absolute liability defensively

We also often had a guy run through the middle unchecked from HB.

Also denotes the fact that when it changed we had no other plan or precise ball users.
one game against Melbourne at AO just before 6/6/6. We got trounced with them running at
least 9 off half back. They adapted. We are way off pace. Still.
The ability to structure the way a team wants to play is easier for Melbourne now and five years ago they did another thing. We on the other hand, have gone nowhere. Not one notable set up or game changing strat.
That is nauseating.

If that were true, you'd see player discontent at selections reflected in performance .....and you wouldn't see a comeback from 40 points down in the 1st Qtr

Every supporter has a varied opinion on players ....one supporter says player "A" was crap ...the next supporter says player "A" was servicable ......you see it every week in the Good, Bad, Ugly thread

As far as I'm aware list management has a certain amount of autonomy. Is it possible this info was strategically leaked before Nicks was made aware? I think it's more likely he's just lying out of his arse and I hope this is the case because I nearly puked when I heard him say Matt is a "required player".

Rowey was alluding to that it wasn’t Nicks who had the convo but someone else. Apparently Bicks has more after 5. But could just be a tease to get you to listen

We actually have a great developmental history .....# rookies that have come thru .....the fact, we recovered from Tippetgate trade sanctions in 4 years to reach a GF .....whereas both CARL & ESS still haven't recovered, with lesser sanctions
