Not so sure re soligo and i go right back to the trade to get darren jarman. We traded sean wellman who was a very promising up and coming player. If the club wants JHF enough, i could see them parting with him and a pick. Crying shame to lose him if it were to be though
I wouldn't be throwing the kitchen sink at Horne. I haven't seen that much from him onfield and his petulence isn't something we need when our culture is moving in the right direction. I think we need to be very careful in overpaying for him and we would need to do our due diligence before we entertain a trade.

I agree... he has some mental issues... even if he wanted out ... the smart thing to do is exactly what Lever did... give nothing away.

But if we wanted him... we'd have to overpay.... it's the tax you have to pay no matter what and I would be happy to pay. Stars wanting home don't usually come our way often.

I agree, we need to get more top end talent, not swap it in and out.

Sholl + a first + some more stuff, that kind of thing.
Correct.

Otherwise we are on a mission to no where. We will be in a Carlton state of constantly rebuilding for the next 20 years.

A good culture isn't avoiding players with issues. A good culture is being able to get the best out of players with issues.

Something in an afl.com article about Collingwood being interested in Frampton
"It's understood the Pies are among multiple Victorian clubs to have registered an interest in the versatile Crows tall, who has slipped down the pecking order at West Lakes in recent months."

Bidding war 😍

Straight swap for JHF?

Yep..who can convince him to join them first as a delisted free agent - the race is on..I can just see the offers now. Collingwood, 'Billy we will give you $150K per year for 1 year'. Carlton, 'we will give you $120K for 2 years' and Geelong....'listen, play for free but we will give your mum a job at the club and you will get free hot dogs for life'

If he is smart, take the Geelong offer.

Onsell the Hot Dogs and he has an income stream for life.

Who would have thought that one good game against the Bulldogs would turn spud Frampton into AFL's most wanted. Lol. Hand over that late first/early 2nd.

At this point, my strongest recommendation is to remember that the football media have repeatedly proven themselves willing to tell absolute lies to generate a few clicks.
More than half of what you read about possible trades is going to prove to have been completely made up by the click-bait whores.

Just keep that in the back of your mind.

Except of course the Frampton for a late first rounder, which is 100% accurate.

Its way more than half.. its more like 80% of what they say ends up being horseshit

Not much point in trading out a very promising young mid to get another one. We need to improve our midfield quality and depth. Even assuming JHF ends up a better player we should be rolling with both not 1 or we are going nowhere. Media are just click baiting

The whole - 'Rutten has been sacked', 'Rutten actually has not been sacked', 'Rutten will be sacked in the next 24 hours', 'Rutten will not be sacked this year' fiasco is a perfect example of this.

Just making things up to manufacture drama.

I reckon that situation was a "journalist" hedging their bets. If he is sacked they can say they were first
