Take Jacksons score or risk Short
Depends on your situation. If you’re playing league & you’re in box seat, take it….then vice versa. Don’t reckon Short would’ve averaged much more last 5-6 weeks..

Take Jacksons score or risk Short
Got him. The screen shot is who I’ve got.Stewart.
Well firstly a players value isn't defined by his SC score.a mil a year for Jackson? Freo are having a f****** laugh aren’t they? 75 @ HT and ends the night on 84. Putrid
He's had low TOG all season, he rarely finishes games strongly. Needs to get fitter to be a relevant SC player, so he can stay on the park longer.Well firstly a players value isn't defined by his SC score.
Secondly regarding SC, it's not Jacksons fault he went backwards. No Gawn and he might have had 130 or 140 tonight. Spent half the last term on the bench and the other half whatever part of the field where the play wasn't going (probably the Dees forward line). Meanwhile Gawn followed the play everywhere. Bad coaching that he was the in form ruck in the first half and and got stuffed by his own team. Not surprised he would want to leave.

I disagree strongly. Of course he could get fitter. But when Gawn wasn't playing in R15 he didn't show much fatigue. Yeah he would still be second ruck to Darcy in Freo but I still argue Melbourne could have done a lot more with him in the last half. His disappearance had far more to do with the team set up than it did to fatigue. He's had low TOG all season, he rarely finishes games strongly. He's going to be playing the same role next season with Darcy too.
Only played 78% TOG in that game without Gawn, which is better but still not great.I disagree strongly. Of course he could get fitter. But when Gawn wasn't playing in R15 he didn't show much fatigue. This describes quite a few rucks in the league (especially Darcy and Naitanui). Again I agree he's not fit enough yet and I agree that his scores drop away in the 2nd half of games. But you still have to be around the ball to score and he was denied the opportunity (by the team not by his fitness) pretty much the whole last term.Only played 78% TOG in that game without Gawn, which is better but still not great.
I've watched him closely this year, as you do when a player is in your SC team. He looks gassed a lot late in games. He just lops around, doesn't have the tank yet. Watch how often the ump's have to wait for him at ball-ups.
If he's going to be a SP he needs to get fitter and stronger imo. No reason he can't of course.

He will be a premo at some stage. He is still only 20 years old and ruckman take longer to develop they normally don't break out until mid 20's
$10 says he finishes his career at CHB.a mil a year for Jackson? Freo are having a f****** laugh aren’t they? 75 @ HT and ends the night on 84. Putrid
Massimo is sub.Trying to decide which premo player to bench and loophole and going around in circles.
Will be doing 1 trades Hewett -> Stewart.
I have HH who i can swing forward and defence. So if i put him in defence i can just bench short with no loop. If i keep him forward i have loop options.
Advice would be much appreciated.

No doubt Gawn is favoured, but he is a better player than Jackson and Melbourne need to win. This describes quite a few rucks in the league (especially Darcy and Naitanui). I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
Massimo on the bench now. I could also trade Short to Marshall but leaves me no trades. Think i will bench Short and watch him score 130 because i did.Massimo is sub.
Get him off the field before the game starts mate.
I would field Cogs over Short myself.
But they didn't win. Not that I'm criticising Gawn who is obviously a great player and certainly is better than Jackson and should be favoured. But I'm also not convinced that running and rucking Gawn into the ground is a great tactic leading into the finals. Jackson should have got a few minutes on the ball in that last few minutes. No doubt Gawn is favoured, but he is a better player than Jackson and Melbourne need to win.
Did. Not. Back. My. Gut.
