What happened to the AFWL thread?
Anyway, Tilly Lucas Rodd has signed with Hawthorn.
I guess this is a loss?
Could it have been worse?
Asking those with knowledge of the women’s game.

Was our best mid last year.
Shame. Big loss.
Absolutely our best midfielder last year. If Patrikios stays away we’re a bit ****ed in the midfield.

Tilly was doing things no one else in our team could do, getting tons of ball, metres gained, laying tackles and having clean disposal.

We have the Women's forum linked up the top, here also:

As others have mentioned, big loss, arguably our best player. And we'll get nothing as the move is to an expansion club, our contract doesn't mean the paper it's written on.

An already decimated midfield loses another. Smith and Patrikios little chance of returning in time for the early season kick-off.

We're an expansion club losing it's players to newer expansion clubs. We've been screwed over, really.

I forgot that smith won’t be back due to the season starting early… we better pick someone good with our draft pick

Nearly got the win again against the undefeated Bombers. 2 points down with minutes to go, just couldn't get over the line. They seem to struggle against us whic is good to see.
That dangerous tackle call in front of goal was a heartbreaker. It may have been technically correct, I don't know, I'm pretty biased.

Final round of the VFLW this weekend, with the Saints hosting North at Sandringham - 9:45am Sunday.

Live from 9am on WARFRadio.com (and 89.1FM at the oval), plus 9:40am on VFLW.TV

For North to make 6th spot and the finals, they need Geelong to beat Collingwood (again), and by a large margin. Then North must beat the Saints.
The total gap to be made up is about 88 points according to Brendan Rhodes - so, best case for North is, Cats smash Pies by about 10 goals, and North beat the Saints by about 6 goals.
If the Pies win tomorrow, Sunday is a dead rubber for North - but live for the Saints, who if they win, will host the Cats in an elimination final. A Geelong victory or Saints loss means the Cats will host the Saints in an Elimination Final.

Saints beat Cats in the Elimination Final 26-18. Not sure who we have next week?
Kept them scoreless after halftime after being down 2 goals early on.

Who we play next week will be determined by tomorrows game between Melbourne v Collingwood.

If Melbourne beat Collingwood, the next round will look like this;

Hawthorn v St.Kilda
Essendon v Melbourne (Winner goes through to GF)

If Collingwood beat Melbourne...

Hawthorn v Collingwood
Essendon v St.Kilda (Winner goes through to GF)

If we end up playing Essendon and win, we're in the Grand Final. If we lose, we will play in the preliminary final the following week.
If we end up playing Hawthorn and win, we advance to the preliminary final. If we lose, we're out.

Excellent post. Essendon finished top but we've nearly beaten them twice this season.
So I won't barrack for Collingwood tomorrow, but barrack against Melbourne.

Melbourne won today. Next week looks like this;

If we win, we advance to the preliminary final and play the loser of Essendon v Melbourne for a spot in the GF. If we lose, we're out.
