Memberships 2022 St.Kilda Membership Thread (FINAL TALLY - 60,172)

Interesting figures from 2006. Interesting how we were up there in regards to the big clubs and now they have pulled ahead.

Lots of big leaps in clubs membership numbers since then.

14 of 18 teams with record memberships this year (2 of the 4 who dont are over 100k anyway and one is coming off a sustained period of success that would have peaked it).

Take nothing away from our record but it seems like theres alot more doing here than just "weve got more members than ever before".

Not really..we are 10,000 short of Geelong and another 10,000 to Hawthorn. Good that we've kicked clear of Dogs/Norf though

You need most of your Memberships sold in the first 1/3 of the year..theyre the big $ 11/17 game/social club/reserved seat ones. After that most sold are the 3/5 game Memberships that inflate the total figure.

The interesting total will be gross Membership $ compared to previous years. We keep THAT going up and we are OK.

Its actually staggering that the Bulldogs have won a flag and had multiple finals series since then, but are still 10,000 members shy of us.

As for Hawks and Geelong, they've won 7 flags between them since 2006. No way we catch them without at least one flag.

I think we have the potential for 70-75,000 members next year if we are secure in the top 8 well before the end of the season. If we can start the season well and back it up after the bye, then we can really grow our membership further.

It’s very odd, it shows that we are barely scratching our potential as a club. I think we can catch Geelong, or get close with a solid season and a clear spot in the 8. If we are solid by the beginning of August, I can’t see why we can’t be at 65-70,000 by the end of August.

Yep, if we look like some sort of contender and locked in the 8 in late July/August, you'll get people buying (or upgrading to) high-end Memberships to try and lock in GF tix if need be.

Our challenge next year is to sell FULL Memberships early. Hopefully the memories of how we fell off the cliff this year will be gone by then lol.

Surely at 60 thou all social club/ premium tickets are allocated for the GF avalability ?
That's capped around 25thou ish??

I got on early in 09 and i would of thought it's never gone back to them being avl??

Sounds good on paper but...

9 out of the 18 clubs recorded record memberships

Achievements are when no-one else does something that you do.
14/18 according to that table above.

2 that didnt are WCE abd Richmond who both have more than 100K so really dont count.

14/16 really.

The end of season Membership survey got sent out a few days ago, I hope everyone takes their chance to give their 2 cents. I'm about to fill it out now.

Glad they included this:

If you selected access via a digital ticket on your smartphone, would you still want to receive a commemorative membership card?

I'm a big fan of getting a membership card, call me crazy.

So am I, would hope we keep them permanently and perhaps move back to a standard ticketing system, what we have now with the digital stuff shits me to tears

I am just going to park some numbers here.
The 2014 to 2022 period is chosen simply because that’s Finnis’s tenure.

To use the analogy above St Kilda is, at the least, a place getter in this marathon.

Top 5 growth over the period (relative terms)

1. GWS +153%
2. St Kilda +94%
3. Carlton +89%
4. Melbourne +83%
5. Brisbane +79%

Top 5 growth over the period (absolute terms)

=1. WCE +42k
=1. Carlton +42k
3. Richmond +35k
4. Melbourne +30k
5. St Kilda +29k

Membership 2014 and 2022 plus change absolute and relative.

Adelaide 54k, 63k, +9k, +17%
Brisbane 24k, 43k, +19k, +79%
Carlton 47k, 89k, +42k, +89%

That’s very impressive to collate that information. It shows a strong growth pattern that we can continue to build on if we can get results on field.

Will still be interesting to see this years financial report and see if the $$ made from Membership is likewise tracking upwards at a rate similar to the membership numbers. . Hopefully enough full memberships are still being bought and the numbers arent being inflated too much by dinky low-cost memberships later in the season (whish yes I know all clubs do)
