I wonder if there is a pick swap between us and Collingwood and Dan has been included in that somehow? Might even involve Hawthorn and Gunston?

Not sure how that benefits those two clubs though.

Plus free agency generates a pick from thin air... Unless Cal is confusing adding a trade into the free agency process - "Collingwood offers more, gets us pick 19, we send them pick 19 for 40, 48 and 49 or something" so they get the advantage from the bigger contract.

We won't be using pick 15 to bid on Ashcroft. It's too valuable a pick to other clubs to be used in the bid matching process. We will split it (or use it in the Dunkley deal).

We would be looking to bid on Ashcroft using a collection of picks in the 30's and 40's.
