So with the McStay compo pick does that make it a little more likely we may have to give up a contracted player to get everything done or doesn’t make much difference?
No difference - this would likely be what we've budgeted for.

Why would Collingwood do that...at the moment they don't need to give anything up at all.
Plus free agency generates a pick from thin air... Unless Cal is confusing adding a trade into the free agency process - "Collingwood offers more, gets us pick 19, we send them pick 19 for 40, 48 and 49 or something" so they get the advantage from the bigger contract.

So we now have enough for Ashcroft straight out if he’s bid on @ pick 1
We won't be using pick 15 to bid on Ashcroft. It's too valuable a pick to other clubs to be used in the bid matching process. We will split it (or use it in the Dunkley deal).

We would be looking to bid on Ashcroft using a collection of picks in the 30's and 40's.

I assume with the suns.

Although if Ashcroft goes #1 we have a problem with points.
Suns obvious at this stage but there is going to be lots of picks moving between now and when the deal is done.
